TV SHOWS / SERIES - Seen any good ones lately? Please feel free to post reviews / feedback / trailers / articles / TV news / all that shit ...

Finished the 8 eps of Vikings Valhalla, the Emma of Normandy character was the most interesting to me in the show, not bad for those that are into shows like the original Vikings and The Last Kingdom

March is packed with releases for me on top of the weekly shows I have still going

The Dropout
The Boys presents diabolical on
Winning time
The Flash
The Last Kingdom
Top Boy
WeCrashed
Atlanta
Pachinko
Moon Knight

Coworker just started Vikings Valhalla and is enjoying it. He binged the original Vikings series last year over the course of a few weeks.

Good rotation / list of shows, @tpotda

We are just wrapping up season 3 of Goliath, and finished 1883 & The Righteous Gemstones.

Started up Peaky Blinders' newest season and gonna finish season 3 of Goliath next week, before getting back into Reacher (2nd ep).

Picked up a new 55" LG tv set this evening. Had been meaning to replace an older 40" Samsung for the past few years. Was just sizing up what was out there with the 55 - 65" sets.

Our Flag Means Death

Stede Bonnet’s career as “The Gentleman Pirate” may represent the worst midlife crisis in history. In 1717, Bonnet, a retired British army major with a large plantation in Barbados, abandoned his family and fortune, bought a ship, and joined the infamous Blackbeard for a life, albeit a brief one, of piracy on the high seas.

Shining Vale

Shining Vale is a horror-comedy about a dysfunctional family that moves from the city to a small town in a house in which terrible atrocities have taken place, but no one seems to notice except for the mother — and the evil spirit that’s trying to possess her. It’s a show about mental illness, small town politics, religion and a family battling their demons. But in a really funny, and scary way.

thought Courteney Cox retired ...

Thanks for the update. Looking forward to it.

That song playing in the background of the trailer is "This Life" off of Vampire Weekend's last album. One of the best songs on the album ...

Father of the Bride is the fourth studio album by American indie rock band Vampire Weekend. It was released on May 3, 2019 by Columbia Records, as their first album on a major label.

The release marked the band's first project in nearly six years, following Modern Vampires of the City (2013), and the group's first project since multi-instrumentalist and producer Rostam Batmanglij's departure from the group. It was primarily produced by Modern Vampires of the City collaborator Ariel Rechtshaid and lead singer Ezra Koenig, and features numerous external collaborators, including Danielle Haim, Steve Lacy, Dave Macklovitch of Chromeo, DJ Dahi, Sam Gendel, BloodPop, and Batmanglij. The pop and indie rock album is musically diverse and heavily referential, contrasting heavy and direct lyrics against a bright spring-time musical mood, with its wide range of influences including country music and jam bands.

The album was preceded by three double singles: "Harmony Hall" / "2021", "Sunflower" / "Big Blue" and "This Life" / "Unbearably White". Upon release, it received widespread acclaim from music critics, earning the band their second Grammy Award for Best Alternative Music Album as well as their first nomination for the Grammy Award for Album of the Year. It was also a commercial success, becoming the group's third consecutive album to debut at number one on the US Billboard 200. The band promoted the album with a global tour, featuring an expanded seven-person lineup.

The Boys Presents: Diabolical on Amazon

If you ever read The Boys comic book ,watched the show,or liked shows like Star Wars : Visions this is for you.
This brought back fond memories of Looney Tunes and other animated series I've watched over the years but with extreme adult vibes and gore. In fact they turned up the gore for this series.
Some episodes are pure fun ,some are heavily dramatic. I really enjoyed it.

Pieces of Her on Netflix has a shocking and involving start and the first 3 episodes are very good.
By episode 4 things get kind of slow ,and there are some good moments woven in for the next few episodes
The last 2 episodes were very drawn out. What held my interest for the last episodes was just to watch
the secrets come to light. This could have been condensed to 5 episodes.

The Righteous Gemstones : This season they really out did themselves. Not only extremely funny but action packed with some great celebrity cameos.

The Dropout on Hulu after watching the excellent documentary on Elizabeth Holmes 2 years ago ,it's great to see all of the situations play out in this well acted series. Amusing, startling and sad.

Good look on the Pieces review. I was considering that one next - I’ll still check it out. But I started Super Pumped and I’m tryin to get back to Reacher

I think I’ll actually jump on GEMSTONES this week too.

Feedback from those who have seen this requested. As a fan of the 2002 He-Man remake (which I'd still stay is the BEST version), and Kevin's Smith continuation story of the OG version, is this newest version recommended?

Gonna watch Super Pumped in the near future, and need to get back to Reacher too.

Survivor's new season starts this week, for those who are still interested.

And regarding Gemstones ... yeah ... definitely check it out. It's a very funny series and often over the top. You can't help but think how many takes they had to do with some scenes as they were probably breaking character and outright laughing at their co-stars' dialogue and exchanges.

2nd season we actually liked it better than the first. They gave you back story on one of the main characters dating back to the late-60s, and the guest stars were fun to have on this season too.

The Righteous Gemstones : This season they really out did themselves. Not only extremely funny but action packed with some great celebrity cameos.

Agreed. Really good way to do action - comedy.

And the over the top ridiculousness of the comedy and dialogue. Can't help but laugh at some of the scenarios they find themselves in.

Only minor gripe - not enough of Uncle Baby Billy this season, lol.

Looks like they changed a lot from the comic(as usual)

damn. I can’t fuck with Brian Woods books. I’ll give the show a shot though. Can’t be any worse than Y The Last Man… that shit had some strong elements but it had more that were impossible to fuck with… damn. So much more interesting shit if they’d gotten it just a little bit righter…

I think I might dig it. Not sure yet just off the pilot but I was able to get through it

there’s a little postshow wrap up that Rick Fox is hosting and that was helpful to see an actual Laker lol

I think we're gonna probably start checking out Winning Time in April or May.

Current rotation = Goliath, Peaky Blinders, Bel-Air and Reacher. Also going to add Survivor as of tomorrow. We should have the first 3 wrapped up sometime in April.

Going to also add the last season of Better Call Saul and the 2nd part of the last season of Ozark also in the spring.

Also caught the first few episodes of Big Brother Canada. Have seen some of the more recent seasons - but missed a bunch of them earlier on. It's their 10th season on the air.

Have 1 week remaining on the Amazon Prime trial offer of 1 month.

Have 3 months remaining on the Apple+ trial period.

Going to try and catch the 2nd season of Upload soon (Prime) - thanks for the reminder from @doug777

And the Tehran series on Apple+ - thanks for the recommendations from the BGOL fam'. Mom also noted that her and her bf enjoyed that series.
