By your logic you should REALLY hate R-Truth! There is a reason why Ron Killings outlasts EVERYONE in WWE. Shelton Benjamin, MVP, Bobby Lashley, etc.. all cut and brought back when it suits what Vince wants to do, but R-Truth...his ass will outlast ALL the McMahons!!

Yeah man. Can't stand him now. I'll admit he's had some funny moments through the years, but now, I'm fully expecting him to come out like Stepin Fetchit as he slows down in a few years.

Reggie too. He's next on Vince McMahon's list, watch.

Wrestler of the Year - I like Danielson and Miro's my guy, but I went with Kenny since he was putting on all those epic matches despite wrestling with vertigo and all those nagging injuries and it was kinda hard to tell.

Breakout Woman - I went with Jade, though I like Statlander and Hayter.

Breakout Man - I like Hook's presentation and Sammy's matches, but I want to see more of Starks so I voted for him.

Beatdown - Rosa/Britt

Surprise - Cole/Danielson at All Out

Mic Moment - Punk's first promo

Tag Team Brawl - Lucha/Bucks

Highflyer - Dante

Everything else I either went Punk, MJF or Britt.

Why? It's not their fault that this is where he's positioned. He got separated from them, was on a different brand, and even won the World Title and this is where he is now. If The New Day wasn't a possibility he might not even be in the company right now the way the WWE is. Him bugging his eyes out and shit is something that he's been doing for years and I hate it but I'm gonna assume that it's a personal choice.

He doesn't seem as a force. They booked him as world champ like he was soft. Like the comedic shit made him a pussy. Brock out here being funny n shit. I seen him acting like he had a boom box doing the running man one time, but when business calls he flips a switch n wreck shit. He ain't show that switch. There's no savage to his character.
 
I found this channel called Wrestling Flashback...they did a compilation of all Jim Ross' catchphrasese...shout out to Mick Foley and Jeff Hardy, these dudes should have died about 15 times now...smh

So I have this co-worker who's a big WWE mark and all I hear from him day after day is the same stupid questions. At first I didn't mind it but now it's annoying.

Him: So do you think Undertaker is going into the Hall Of Fame?

Me: (being nice) I mean I guess. I'm sure he'll get in at some point.

Him: Do you think Austin is gonna wrestle at Wrestlemania?

Me: Do you really want to see that?

Him: Well yeah he's my favorite wrestler growing up.

Me: :hmm:

Him: You don't want to see that?

Me: I'm about as excited for that as watching paint dry.

Him: I'm going to try to go to WrestleMania this year. You should go with me.

Me: Don't waste your money.

Him: You should really go. Brock and Roman are gonna have the match of the year.

Me: :lol: In what universe because it surely isn't this one. Maybe Dr. Strange can help you get into one of the other universes.

THE NEXT DAY

I remember watching most of this on tv. Takes me back. Some of this was when we started doing wrestling in high school and the wwe had to come out and say “don’t try this at home”. Lol ah the days. But for real. Wrestling might be fake but those injuries they take….completely real. Falling from those heights and gettin chair shots straight in the dome? Damn.

Big E is on TV regularly & employed. That's better than most right now. I doubt New Day goes anywhere anytime soon. It's probably not ideal. But the WWE is unpredictable. And if you have nothing to do, you could find yourself getting the "Next endeavors" tweet. A failed singles run with nowhere to go could leave him at the food table until that you're fired call comes. That's not to say he wouldn't be welcomed elsewhere. But I doubt he'd make anywhere near as much money.

Yeah I can't be mad at him honestly. To be honest I wasn't really that impressed with him as champion anyway. This New Day shit good or bad....its still one of the best things they got going for them as faces.

I think they all 3 should go through the window lol. They'd never do it but I think Kofi still got a face run left in him......I think Big E and Woods should do solo heel runs.

So I may b e off based with the term "mark" but I assumed that meant they were WWE diehards? That person you're talking to seems like a casual fan.....that for some reason thinks you like talking about WWE lol.

That 3 way Table Ladders and Chairs Match with Hardy Boys, Christian and Edge, and the Dudley Boyz was epic....i had a new found respects for the hardyz and the Christian and Edge after that...there are certain matches that you watch that you will remember for the most of their lives...also got a new found respect for Shane after watching him take bumps..

He's definitely a casual mark. More so a WWE casual mark. The term "mark" on the most basic level just means fan. All he likes to talk about is WWE. I bring up Impact, AEW, NWA, New Japan, etc he looks at me like a deer in the headlights. I don't mind talking about WWE but damn broaden your horizons.

See this is where a Bray Wyatt or Malakai Black type character would work. Where a loss to them in a way leaves the loser infected and/or turned into a darker version of themselves. Would've worked especially with them.

Shit if I'm being honest aside from AEW I don't even know what channel them others even come on lol. I lost track of Impact about 2 stations ago lol.

AEW Dynamite and Rampage are the only wrestling shows I watch live. For Impact, NWA, New Japan, etc, I just download those shows through torrents and watch later. They usually have the shows up on the torrents the very next day.

A mark is anyone who watches wrestling in whatever capacity, occasionally or weekly, one fed or all of them. To wrestlers and promoters, you are considered a mark. It's not a bad thing.

The concept of marks and smarks (smart marks) is completely obsolete, tho.

Back in the early 2000s on wrestling forums, you would have people who still held on to the belief that wrestling is "real" as far as storylines and outcomes and shit.

And then there were people who more privy to the behind-the-curtain type shit about wrestling because they followed the dirt sheet sites and would be smart asses to the people who still thought it was real.

And to differentiate themselves from the people who still believed it was real, they would call themselves "smarks" and the people who were like "it's still real to me, dammit!" were just regular marks.

But now we live in the internet age where everybody knows everything because you can't help but come across all these news stories and documentaries about all the backstage workings and politics and shit. All that info is common knowledge now. Nobody even debates if the shit is real anymore, so everybody is just a mark now.
