Anybody ever break into your house or apartment?

Wish they could be shot on sight.

Had recurring break ins at a house I used to stay at.

When we finally caught them one was 14 years old...kids from the neighborhood.

Could have caught them breaking in and killed them down here...Georgia. They knew our cars and knew when we were gone.

Damn, some people got us tonight. All cash, high end purses and jewelry. Did not have alarm or cameras on.

Coincidence?

Our alarms are never off. we set home mode so as to not notify the company, but we get alerts for doors and windows.
Away mode alerts the company.
either mode cameras are running 24/7 and always notify except when the internet is down.

We record 24/7 with the Synology NAS and a few Eufy 2k cameras. It's all connected to the alarm system. Wish I just bought a ADT system as the current setup can be a pain in the ass.

Shit happened to me twice. First one was an inside job, left that kinfolk alone and really don't fuck with them no more. They know they had something to do with it. Lost some real nice shit on that one. The second one, the only thing that was stolen was an Macbook Pro. I locked that bitch, so they can't sell it or get into it. I got notifications almost a year later about someone trying to get into the damn thing. I didn't have the locator turned on. I wish I did, could have gotten it back. I had some good writing on the motherfucker. Shit you lose in life. Finally, I hope that shit don't happen again. It is a waste of time and resources because the cops literally don't do shit.

Happened to me about 20 years ago. The second floor tenants just moved out and I'm sure it was their peoples. Muthafukas took electronics, jewelry and absolutely trashed the place. Luckily they didn't find the cash i had hidden away. Landlord actually gave me a free month rent, but that was just a drop in bucket . Just thinking about that shit got me pissed.

I keep a sign on my front door warning that there's a dog in the house AND OWNER IS ARMED. I also have a Ring Doorbell...these 2 things cut by 99 percent the amount of activity by my door (condo).

Lastly I barricade my door on the inside when I go to bed. I park my hand truck (dolly) sideways against the door so it would cause a great commotion if entry was made. I also sleep with a box cutter by my bed, last line of defense.

Happened to me twice in NY many moons ago

Now I keep cams all around the crib with Ring

Hope you had insurance and can recoup things. Sorry to hear it happened bruh, I too well know the feeling, gutted.

Have you allowed anyone new around your crib? Have Anybody been working On your house as far as upgrades or something past few months? … just thinking of any possible suspects… sucks to hear that hope everything turns out well for you
This is key…… I do not let a lot of people inside my crib only a few women knows what’s behind my door. Also this rule Applies to family members because there are some family members you just can’t let in your house.

Negro, if you don't get you a muhfuckin pistol! And a shotgun!
 Hand truck sideways
 box cutter

FNX within arms reach without sitting up in bed.
AR pistol leaned beside headboard.

This part of why I try to do most of home repair & upgrades myself. I dont even want people to know I bought a house, much less where I live

Some shitheads got me about 15 years ago. Took a few guns and an old ass camcorder and other miscellaneous bullshit.

I got home and thought they were still in the house. Called the cops. They showed up guns ready and cleared the house.

They weren't in the house anymore. One of the cops walks up to me and says " I thought I was gonna be on the news tonight." He thought he was gonna have to shoot someone that was still in the crib.

Eh. A person would have to get through 3 points of entry to get to me.

I don't want anything heavy that could strike a neighbor across the hall. Maybe a shotgun at the most.

I'm also multiple levels up so nobody's coming from my balcony.

Also have 8 foot steel barrier placed in the front door jamb with 6 inch screws. Door ain't getting kicked in. The hand truck really isn't necessary but I I saw it in a movie and liked the idea.

No point in having an alarm cause if by some miracle people got in they would be in and out. Cameras on the property as well as my Ring.

Really only need a firearm for my car not so much for the home.

What you got against firearms? :dunno:

Fam, you live in ATL. GET YOU A GUN(S). :hmm:

We got coyotes in Georgia. What if a coyote run up on you?

Lmbao @ Boxcutter why????? Ain’t you in Atlanta? I got Ring Cameras on all entry points. My neighbor shares one of his ring cameras facing my house and I share my camera facing his house. When home I got the XD 9MM with the hollowpoints. I would never do another apartment then shits are break ins waiting to happen.

@papi68 are you in a house or Apartment? Get yourself the Ring System. Alarm & Doorbell cam.

I'm in a condo. If someone made it into this place and I'm home, I would know before they could breach the door...after that it would be an extremely close quarters struggle. Knife, etc from the blind side of the door to the neck would be my goal.

I have nothing against firearms just don't have much experience with them. If I had a single family house, definitely.

Damn Cat..... I've never had a spot broken into, but I'm super cautious being that it's just me, wifey and my Son. We have 3 floors, and I can't hear shyt in the basement, but I have cameras/motion detectors EVERYWHERE. I've only had my whip broken into and stolen and they found it, I didn't want it anymore, I felt violated... And that was just a truck, I could ONLY imagine if it was the crib. Glad u and ur fam is straight, things can be replace. DAMN THIEVES!!!!!!!!

Background

10k sq ft house
More than 5 acres
Nice area Bentleys rolls Royce’s helicopters
The thieves hit a house 2-3 blocks away around 7 pm
Police said teens to young males on grainy video. I took that to mean white kids since they didn’t specify.
20 fucking degrees with plastic garbage covering a hole where double glass used to be on a back door.
They wore gloves
Went into both attics
Stole my jewelry box
Emptied out my wife’s 3 foot tall jewelry box
Didn’t harm our caged dog
Went thru the unlocked safe went thru drawers
Took a pillow case to carry stuff
Stole my wife’s leather Louis bag. Only 14 in the country
Got a 5 figure watch from me

They left a lot of expensive stuff. They weren’t professionals.

I could smell them when we got home. My bedroom smelled like dirt and motor oil.

They used a metal chair on the deck to break the glass

Did not trash house other than drawers and safe looking for money etc

Police were excited to be in the house.

I’m glad my wife wasn’t home alone.

Never ever again. We’re pretty lax around here. Leave doors unlocked all day. Garage open all day. Small community

6 outdoor cameras
Chimes for when anything comes down driveway
Alarm system with 25 data entry points.

I will stay ready in the future

It’s funny because I’m always talking about people being hungry and staying prepared. Got caught slipping.

Oh well, the insurance company has to get to work.

Never ever let your guard down fam, no matter how nice or quiet your area is. The opportunity is all a thief loos for.
Feel your pain right now man. I was going around to pawn shops and scrolling ebay and craigslist looking for my shit.

Sorry that happened but at least you’re covered.

Many folks aren’t.

i got got a few years ago in an apartment in memphis.

it was an inside job that i couldn't prove. maintenance had just been in my apartment the week prior and the only other person that had ever even been in my apartment was my girlfriend.

they pretty much cleared out my electronics and got one of my guns. i lived on a third floor apartment and they got my 70 inch tv down three flights of stairs. that is another reason i know it was an inside job. they planned that shit and it was at least two of them. there is no way a single person is carrying a 70 inch down three flights of stairs by themselves and putting it into a car.

i think it was three of them and a truck. they had to make multiple trips to get what they got.

i was insured but it was a hassle. insurance ended up coming out of about 12k. yeah, that is how much they got me for.

and the police did not give a fuck about anything besides the shotty that was stolen. they hounded me about the serial number for the gun until i gave it to them. then i never heard from them again.

now i live in a quiet memphis suburb. nest cameras, wyze cameras and ring cameras cover pretty much the entire apartment, garage and outside area. and i have a nest security system with a nest smart lock and door/motion sensors that links to brinks.

never again. they can try but there is no way they will not be identified.

there was a maintenance dude that came by and literally said i had more security than alcatraz.

yup, now bounce and mind your fucking business.
