Wordle: New Word Game. Frustrating and Addicting.

Wordle is now exclusively the annoying words your friend uses in scrabble that you refuse to believe are real

That's interesting, because it may guarantee that you dont get it on the 2nd guess. After my first word, I'm trying to solve. Yes, I am trying to eliminate additional vowels. I have a cousin who uses adieu as his first word to get rid of the vowels. I told him that's over kill because statistics say D and U would not be in the word.

I read whatever link that was posted that showed the best 5 first word guesses. Yes, I use 1 and then if it allows another for the 2nd.

Although, since I'm trying to guess the word on my second guess, I dont usually get to the 2nd word from that list unless in a rare occasion, my first guess gives no letters.

I also play Wordscape on my phone everyday. I can be repetitve, but I'm always like what the heck was that word when a new one has to be used.
That was my thinking as well concerning the vowels and I certainly agree that ADIEU is a bit of overkill.
I don't, however, try to solve it within the first two guesses anymore because if I get it on the first guess or the sixth, it's still a W statistically. I use my first two guesses as a gauge.

So do you basically start in Europe and go from there?
I started 11K kilometers away, but thanks to giving distance and direction to tell you whether you hot or cold, I could at least get on the right continent.

I like ADIEU.

It only leaves one vowel unaccounted for. Which really shortcuts things as vowels go.
My second guess is to begin to rule out common consonants.

HOLY CRAP!
I got one. I feel so relieved.

When I told myself in high school that I wouldn’t need geography, I was right, until today. After guessing about four countries, I didn’t know any more countries to even throw out there.

Yeah, but how many five-letter words have four vowels?
That is true, but I don't use it for that purpose- looking for another five letter word with four vowels.

What ADIEU does is let you know in your first guess which four out of the five vowels are or are not in the word...minus one vowel.

The additional benefit is that within that one guess it gives a clue as to where the placements in the word of those vowels either are or aren't.
