Official 2025 NFL Discussion!!!

Mccown WILL be on the staff of whatever HC is hired. Believe that.

Lovie cannot do this man :smh:
Why not? It's not like Lovie is going to get some other head coaching gig. He hasn't been a candidate for head coaching jobs in the NFL for years and his stint as head coach at Illinois didn't go particularly well so it's not like he's going to get a college job either. Take the job and the money and do with it what he will.
Yes the Texans are on some bullshit but we've known that since Bill O'Brien was still HC. It's why they've been in this fucked up predicament for 2 years in a row though the guy they hired last year should have been retained.

Quick note on former 49ers coach Mike McDaniel:
He's actually a running game specialist, not a passing game specialist

He was the one who drew up the intricate running play designs every week before the games
Shannahan was the one who called the plays on game day, and in which order/situation
McDaniel was like the mad scientist behind the scenes, even though his title was OC
He comes across as extremely intelligent, but kind of nerdy
He doesn't really come off like an alpha male type (like Mike Tomlin)
So I don't know how well that will translate as the head coach of Miami

But going forward the Dolphins offense will probably be similar to the 49ers running offense
Leaning on the run game to setup the pass
Zone blocking running scheme, with more motions & shifts
Not sure if Miami has the O-line & personal to run that style yet, so there might be a transition period though

I understand now...Stephen Ross wanted to hire a guy...like "him" :rolleyes2:

Self respect? He already signed on to work for the Texans as their DC this past year so what the fuck are you talking about? So he didn't disrespect himself by taking their job as DC but he'd be disrespecting himself by taking the job as HC for the exact same organization with the same management and owner? He's already taken their money. And maybe he could then take that job and if he wants help set up the next black man to be a head coach whether that's Pep Hamilton or someone else or show that a black coach deserves a 2nd opportunity to be the HC since he to this point never got his 2nd chance.
The organization is a clusterfuck which is why Eric Bienemy didn't take the job with them last year leading to them having to pay through the nose for one of the apparent few people willing to take the job. David Culley had never been interviewed in 27 years of coaching for a NFL head coaching job, and had never even been a DC or OC, and the job was so toxic that they had to give him 22 million dollars to take the shit.

So the Dolphins get rid of Brian Flores in large part because of his relationship with Tua only to then hire a coach who wants to bring in a different QB who also has a huge contract that's much bigger than his actual level of production? How fuckin' stupid!!!

Makes no sense at fuckin all. :smh:

Somebody will be stuck with the "hot potato" ;)
Its either Miami, or Pittsburgh, or Washington, or Denver, or Carolina, or Tampa Bay

Nah fam, but also keep in mind Jimmy Garoppolo
We got nothing from Jimmy in running offense...literally nothing
Compared to teams with running QB's
Like Josh Allen, Lamar Jackson, Jalen Hurts, Kyler Murray, etc, etc
Go back & look at the teams in the top 10 for rushing offense
And tell me which ones have a QB that does not scramble at all?

McDaniel was pretty good at working around Garoppolo's deficiencies
That's true, 49ers RB history as well... Valid points made

I can accept that. I've contended that mixed muhfuckas SHOULD self-identify...what do THEY say they are? That's better than Cablanasian.
Hell, I think Cassius Marsh probably more identifies as Black than McDaniel...don't hold me on that; I'm just going on interviews about his background and who his father is. Looking at him, you can hardly tell.

:hithead: I had a separate comment to make but listening to Professor Black Truth on my phone made me lose my train of thought. :D

Damn his Dad eliminated all the Black from the family tree  I am always curious how people who are phenotypically white, exist and present when they in fact are kinda Black? I bet he marries a white women though. At least his Pops gave him all that speed.
