Meltzer hates WWE even more than you guys. Always has. LOLMeltzer is SUPER biased! I am not a fan of Ronda either but I have different reasons than him.
Actually, my parents have heard of Bitcoin (although like many they can't explain exactly what it is) and have heard of Spiderman and Ironman.Have your parents heard of Bitcoin?!?! Does them knowing about it make it mainstream or not?!?! Technically, my pops has never heard of WWE, he still thinks it is WWF!
My grandmother couldn't pick Ironman out of a police linuep with the FCUKING HERCULOIDS!!! But she knows who Spiderman is. Who has been more mainstream over the last 20years?
AEW has been "mainstream" enough for Vince to declare a Tuesday Night War and lose it within a year. Ya'll try an write AEW off on some kid brother type shyt and that is not the case at all.
Bryan Danielson left. He's the equivalent to an NFL players leaving for the CFL.Ain’t no top pro Football players leaving the NFL to play in the CFL.
I stand corrected. That's one.Bryan Danielson left. He's the equivalent to an NFL players leaving for the CFL.
Cats like to "Hate Watch" shit just so they can shit on it.
I never understood that? It's like people who hate FAUX News and Chump 45, yet continually posted FAUX News clips of 45 on social media....
I just don't watch shit I have no interest in.
Was last night's Royal Rumble the best thing ever? No.
Did I find it entertaining, yes.
Fuck what you heard, it was something fun to watch with my kids on a cold ass Saturday night in Central Florida.
I don't need every PPV match to be given high imaginary stars by my some wrestling journalist only wrestling marks are aware of and follow.
I watch this stuff to be entertained.
And even though WWE has been very weak overall for quite a bit, when a PPV is on, I'm watching because it's something my kids and I like watching together.
I watch it for comedy purposes. It entertains me in a car wreck kind of way. As long as you watch with the lowest of expectations and don't take it serious it can actually be fun to watch.
Yeah I mean I don't know if we count Punk but i'd say him and Danielson for sure...they are exceptions to the rule though. The only reason to leave WWE for AEW is maybe for a easier and light schedule. But all these young wrestlers like Bianca, Sasha, etc.? It makes no sense for them to go. I think even with Danielson he was able to make that move because of the timing he dipped and him being a draw.I stand corrected. That's one.
All the other WWE castoffs that left to AEW were lower to midcard talents.
You can count Jericho since he went to NJPW instead of taking a WWE paycheck which led to his AEW run. Moxley (not a true main event name) turned down WWE money to work the indies. Mox didn't even know AEW was legit until Jericho told him. Can you count Hogan going to WCW?Yeah I mean I don't know if we count Punk but i'd say him and Danielson for sure...they are exceptions to the rule though. I think you can count a lot of WWF guys going to WCW at the time Hogan did it. but I don't think WWF was what it is today. They were going to WCW and getting paid more and as a result i'd probably say they were more on equal ground than what AEW is today. You can count Jericho since he went to NJPW instead of taking a WWE paycheck which led to his AEW run. Your pops still knows the company currently known as WWE even if he doesn't know they changed their name 20 years ago and who's currently on the roster.
Some things are just engrained in society.
Maybe AEW will become mainstream in 40 years (if they're still around), but they're far from it now.
That's the craziest shit to me. I know a lot of viewership they have is people hating on them but still tuning in and be the reason they trend. Makes no sense lol. Shit I dislike I don't pay it any mind.
Bruh, I promise you my parents (and the majority of people in this country) have never heard of AEW in any form or fashion. That's fine though. They're a new company. Let's see if they're still around in 40 years. Hell, WWE as we know it may not be around in 40 years.I like how you ignored the last two sentences!
Your parents have heard the NAME Bitcoin that is it. You're saying in order to be mainstream I have to be able to give some form of explanation of what it is. WWE=wrestling for me to have heard of it. Bitcoin is a virtual traded form of currency that is just off the top of my head don't know if I am right or wrong on that but I am close enough to know OF Bitcoin. So by your logic Bitcoin is not mainstream cause your parents can't give an explanation. It is possible your dad may have heard the name AEW, but never makes the connection that AEW=wrestling which means AEW is not mainstream. Therefore Bitcoin is not either.
I just think this shyt is relative the way media is consumed nowadays looking to ones parents as a deciding factor of mainstream or not is very convenient.

Most kats don't want to let go of what was, been watching since the 70s and have seen all the changes to this point. Big business own the TV channels now and some have strict rules while others will let the boundaries be pushed. Grand kids enjoyed the RR but we also were watching Bellator last night to. Thing I like best that we have more choices of Wrestling, MMA and Boxing basically something for everyone.Exactly. My 7-year old son (first PPV he's ever sat down and watched) and I watched Royal Rumble and he enjoyed it.
That is a target audience of WWE today. The product overall ain't for us anymore. I've accepted that at this point.
There were some entertaining portions of the Rumble last night and yes the outcomes were predictable, but most Royal Rumbles in the past have also been predictable. This isn't something new. Sorry, but your favorite mid-card wrestler ain't winning the Rumble.
There were some crappy moments last night (DewDrop vs. Becky Lynch comes to mind and there were some weak spots during both Rumble matches), but overall it wasn't that bad.
I understand why people like Cornette hate watch the WWE and AEW. He makes money doing so.
None of these cats complaining on here and on Twitter are making a dime hate watching.
Give TK and AEW time, they'll be pulling the same shit. The Big Swole situation was just the beginning. But hey, at least the owner is BROWNWhat does this even mean?!?!? Like, is the smurf AEW and we are just blindly following being the two white cats?!? And I don't get how @EPDC is Gargamel?!?! A grumpy old man, sure. But Gargamel?!?! *kidding*
And I have no problem calling AEW out on their bullshyt as well. Yes I give them a longer leash than I give WWE, but WWE has been at this A LOT longer than AEW has. My gripe has always been how black/POC talent is treated and or exploited WWE has a history of this shyt. From Slick to KoKo B. Ware to the Booker T screwjob all the way up to Kofi getting his ass beat by Brock. The minute AEW is on some shyt like this, then they're getting written off just like WWE!
Hogan. Hall and Nash left because they were getting guaranteed money. Vince thought that Macho Man was done in the ring so he bounced unless the thing with Stephanie was true.I think you can count a lot of WWF guys going to WCW at the time Hogan did it. but I don't think WWF was what it is today. They were going to WCW and getting paid more and as a result i'd probably say they were more on equal ground than what AEW is today.
And yeah i'd agree on Jericho too. But he also goes back to that perfect timing deal. If Jericho was still in WWE and he left today for AEW...I don't think that deal is nearly as lucrative.
I think she would garner more respect than that. Honestly feel she'd be the one to beat Jade because of her physical background. She lost her belt in 26 seconds and they've played her to the left since then. And do what? Go to AEW, get lost in the shuffle and have to do jobs to Jade Cargill?![]()
WWE needs to have Sasha/Bianca team up and go after the tag titles. That way you can get them on both shows to boost ratings and exposure.True. Plus, I don't see Bianca as a hardcore wrestling fan who wants to put on wrestling clinics like a Bryan Danielson.
For many performers WWE is a platform that allows them to do other things (acting, charity work, TV shows, etc.)
AEW isn't providing those same opportunities unless you happen to be in the Rhodes family. LOL
That was cool but I called itRoyal Rumble.
Really Heyman?
No AEW is not on the same level, but acting like staying in catering at WWE versus actually doing something in AEW is so much better. Being the "Top Dog" also doesn't mean you're the best product.
Also what brand recognition does Xerox have?!?!
I'm not sure if those women tag title can be saved. When Rhea Ripley eliminated Zelina & Carmella and they mentioned that she threw both the champs out, I had honesty forgotten that they were the current champions.WWE needs to have Sasha/Bianca team up and go after the tag titles. That way you can get them on both shows to boost ratings and exposure.
