Do I need to watch something else first other than the 6 Star Wars movies?

It is a 3 out of 5 so far, but I will be patient. The "dream" shit is too much, but it might be needed to fill history gaps.
Watched episode 4 yesterday.
It mainly gave us the backstory of Boba meeting and becoming partners with Fennec.
It was nice seeing Slave 1 in action.
It’s looking like we going to get a major surprise cameo within the next couple of episodes with how things are playing out with Boba being the new crime lord.
There is a possibility that Qi’ra from “Solo” might be the big cameo.
She took over Crimson Dawn at the end of Solo, there has not been any mention of Crimson Dawn in all the SW projects since the release of Solo.
They might be the group running things behind the scenes over the Pikes and Hutts.

Boba Fett was alive during the time of Solo.
Qi’ra could be not too older from her debut in Solo.
SW still has not given us a definitive timeframe of when everything takes place.
For now they use “BBY” (Before Battle of Yevin” and “ABY” (After Battle of Yevin). The battle in Episode 4 “A New Hope”.
Solo came before Rogue one and is estimated to be around 10 BBY.
Book of Boba Fett takes place soon after Episode 6, like the Mandalorian it’s about 9 ABY.
So only about 20 years has passed between Solo and Boba Fett.
Since nobody’s age for humans has ever been disclosed in the films/series (Books don’t count) Qi’ra could be in her 20s in Solo and in her 40s in Boba Fett.
You are right about the 20 years, basically 5 years after the Return of the Jedi.
That's beneath his character arc at this point.
Just finished episode 4, at the end wasnt that the Mandolorian music playing after Fennec said if you know what to look? also she is a way more interesting character, in this series, than Boba; he seems very blah and bland; basic lines also; series is ok...

I was hyped AF when he unsheathed the Darksaber after telling his bounty I can deliver you warm or cold.
Once he no longer feels the weight (it feels lighter once a warrior is more in tune with it) of the Darksaber, he's going to be even more cold.
Bryce Dallas Howard always directs the BEST episodes.

Just watched Episode 5.
Was not expecting a episode like that.
The whole episode was with Din which was interesting. The new visuals of that space station looked great in how it looked.
Din meeting up with the Armorer and getting a brief history of the Purge, along with visuals with the Dark Saber which was done well. They connected it nicely with “Star Wars Rebels”. Would have been cool if the Armorer had mentioned Sabine by name.
Not feeling the new ship. I suspect it’s the one Anakin used in Episode One which means they used it for nostalgia.
And our girl Bryce Dallas Howard directed the episode. The PAWG done well.
Looking like they setting it up for season 3 of the Mandalorian with this episode.
This series is proceeding well in my opinion.

If anybody noticed, the two X-Wing pilots (The Samoan Pilot) is supposed to be one of the main co-stars for the future “Rangers of the New Republic” series.
The future of the series was up in the air because of Gina Carano’s foolishness, but it’s looking like Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni have used their clout to get her dumbass back, because her character was supposed to be the main character in the series and they liked her.
No word yet on when it’s going to production at this time.
