I've always say that the Hall of Fame for the MLB,NFL and NBA are a joke because you have a bunch of sports writers having no problem leaving a player out just because a player was mean to them.
Sports writers has too much power when it comes to the Hall of Fame voting. It should be actual Hall of Famers(50% of the vote),former and current coaches(25% of the votes) and sports writers(25% of the votes).

I agree with this 100%. The fact that Dick Allen is not in the hall of fame is an absolute fuckin disgrace!!!! Mike Schmidt (who despite being the greatest 3rd baseman in the history of baseball and the greatest Phillie ever is also one of the biggest assholes on the fuckin planet) agreed. He and Allen were very close and Mike actually had to get on Philly fans for being racist towards Allen during his playing time in Philadelphia. Fuck them sports writers fa real.

He is an asshole, but to keep the best player of his generation out of the Hall over that is hypocritical. All the racists, cheaters, gamblers that exist in the HOF pales in comparison to Bonds being an asshole.

I think there should be an alternative award or enshrinement of honor for players with the prestige and distinction akin to the MLB Hall of Fame .

The players or honoree's are selected by 80% of the fan vote and 20% by players.
Fuck the sport reporters and writers and their votes because a lot of them are biased and have personal grudges against these retired athletes.
