Gents,

My friend just got taken for 1000.00 in a crypto scam.

He was contacted through Instagram by a friend he trusts...dude said he made 20k in crypto mining profits on 1000 investments in 8 hours by investing with a mining company. He sent screenshots of his account balance. My friend contacted the representative and texted with her...set up an account on a website and sent 1000 to a wallet.

He logged back in and the 1000 was 2700, on up to about 7000 overnight. That's when I was ready to get in

So this morning he goes to withdraw to coinbase and it didn't go through. Called coinbase which led him to figure out it was a scam. He called his friend and the guy was unaware. His Instagram was hacked and messages were sent to all his contacts.

Verify verify verify before sending any crypto anywhere!
 
Scamers have been on IG for a while. They'll gain access to one person's account then send a DM to everyone they've DM'd with telling them about free gift cards, how their account is being made fun of etc.

Whenever money is involved, just call your friend to make sure it's legit.

Relative got got, but not by a crypto scam. A close friend of his, I mean someone he actually hangs out with, DMed him on Instagram, and said he was in a bind and needed $40. So, my cousin Cash apped him the money. The next day, he asked his dude if he was straight, and his friend was like :confused:. Turns out that his friend's account sent messages to 3 other people, but only 2 of them sent him money.
 
They did the same to my sisters, took over their IG but the minute I see certain ppl in my circle (friends and family) starting to givie out crypto info I know something was up. I actually saved them from getting clean out. I never answer my DMs on Instagram if you know me you know how to get me.

Bruh! Same thing ALMOST happened to me last month. Chick I've know for years and friends with on IG hit me up in my DM bout this chick who turned 700 into like 4500 for her in a few hrs mining crypto. Did the screenshot thing and all. We did a whole song and dance back and forth. Was like, yo idk. Sounds fishy. Red flag went off when she said she would do it for 350. Nobody cuts a buy-in price by half. Texted her on her number and told me her acct was hacked and she don't know shit about crypto. Deleted her acct immediately. Like OP said, verify, verify, verify. You never get something for nothing.

but if you dont want to take a few seconds to

learn about the do's and donts, and rather trust

third party shit like emails and contacts...

then you beggin to get got...

Making money is RISK but you can shorten that risk

a hundred fold just by doing a little homework...

Lesson lost, it couldve been worse...
 
I have never heard of anyone who made a profit investing in a cryptocurrency mining company.

The concept doesn't make sense. If someone has a machine that can literally print money out of thin air why would they want investors? It would make far more sense to take out a bank loan and pay it back when the machine works better.

If they're looking for your investment to make this mining operation happen it means, at best, that the banks didn't believe in it. At worst is just a complete scam.

There is which is why there's so many scams attached to it.

The secret to making consistent money in crypto is the same as the stock market. Pick assets that have been around for at least a few years and generally go up in price over time. Buy a set amount of these assets every week regardless of the price. Do this long enough and you're practically guaranteed to make a profit.

Ignore everything else. Don't worry about the hot new coins, mining opportunities, investment portfolios or any of that other stuff. Just find a reliable exchange company (I use coinbase), pick your coins and set up a reoccurring payment.
 
Walmart, Arizona, The money services desk. This old woman next to me at the desk wants to send $2,000 to Georgia. The girl behind the desk asks what name to send to. She says she is not sure and pulls out a piece of paper to spell the name correctly. I said Do you know this person all the way in Georgia ? She says No, she got a call to send the money to help her grandson. Everyone did a big pause and the girl behind the desk said She should check with her grandson before she sends that much money anywhere. The woman thanked ALL of us as she left, cause we all told her this sounds like a scam.

Yea only someone who is not familiar with how crypto works would get caught by a scam like this..

whenever I hear about any money making shit, the first thing I say to myself.. is,

so this muthafucka dont know anybody that wants to make money,

ONLY ME.. they have no family or friends... thats my FIRST angle...

second angle is, analyzing the muthafucka making the offer... do they

look like they could use a few bucks in their life.. if so its a hard pass

another red flag is showing off a shiny car or attention whoring photos...

right off the bat... I know its a marketing ploy and NOT some money making opp..

All these scams for investing with others, if I can't do stuff on my own I'm not trusting no online company to flip coins.
