"WW C"- COVID-19, GLOBAL CASES SURPASS 676 MILLION...Here we go again 2025 are we ready for Trump to fuck this up again?

Man. These useless ass, fucking dinosaurs keep putting people at risk with this 'back to the office' bullshit. I know quite a few people who were just as productive at home who have to go back to commuting like it's the 70s or some shit. :smh:

I couldn't do business with dinosaurs BEFORE covid.

Yeah man, like I said before the 3rd booster, follow Israel. They way ahead of us. Israel already giving out the 4th shot. And for what it's worth, UK gives the boosters at 3 months. Folks reserve their booster spots at 61 days after last shot.

I think the most important thing people can do if they are serious about following how to respond to COVID is to look outside the U.S. starting with Israel. Every place as politics, corruption and greed, but U.S. is next level with the shit.

Co-sign all of this.

Their is literally no reason to have anyone in my position working in the office, nothing I do requires me to go in and I'm much more efficient in my position without having to commute to and from work for no reason.

Everyone in my department agrees and have expressed this to higher ups who just don't give a fuck and have prioritized their own personal preference over common sense, productivity, and safety considering we're still very much in the middle of a global pandemic.

The craziest shit is even with numbers exploding they're considering having us return in mid-January

As far as the booster shot I totally agree, like I said I'm already preparing for two booster shots in 2022.

Americans who test positive for the coronavirus can self-isolate for just five days, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention now says – down from the 10 days the agency previously recommended.
The new guideline comes as the Omicron variant of the virus spreads rapidly across the United States, causing a high number of mild or asymptomatic cases.
“Not all of those cases are going to be severe,” CDC director Rochelle Walensky told the Associated Press on Monday. “We want to make sure there is a mechanism by which we can safely continue to keep society functioning while following the science.”

After a person tests positive for SARS-CoV-2 – the virus that causes the disease called Covid-19 – the CDC recommends that he or she begin a period of “isolation,” staying at home and avoiding others. For those exposed to a person who tested positive, the agency recommends a period of “quarantine,” which has slightly different rules.
On Monday, the CDC shortened its recommendations for both isolation and quarantine, each by the same amount – from 10 days to five.
In a statement, the agency said these changes reflect the latest data on when the virus is most contagious.
“The change is motivated by science demonstrating that the majority of SARS-CoV-2 transmission occurs early in the course of illness, generally in the 1-2 days prior to onset of symptoms and the 2-3 days after,” the CDC said.
The agency emphasized that infected persons and those exposed to them should observe “strict mask use” for five days after their isolation or quarantine ends.
The Omicron variant now makes up the majority of new coronavirus cases in the US, burdening some states with their highest caseloads so far. Some studies have suggested that Omicron causes less severe illness than previous variants, but experts still worry the sheer number of cases could overwhelm hospitals.
The best way to avoid that, officials say, is for more Americans to get vaccinated, and for already-vaccinated Americans to get a booster shot.
“Prevention is our best option,” Dr Walensky said. “Get vaccinated, get boosted, wear a mask in public indoor settings in areas of substantial and high community transmission, and take a test before you gather.”
So far, only 62 per cent of eligible Americans are fully vaccinated.

I don't agree with this shit, and why change now when the numbers are skyrocketing :smh:

Yeah this is a bit disturbing I’m just hoping they are following science and not nothing else.

I doubt they're following science, this is either somehow politically motivated or an attempt to appease those who are unwilling to be tested and/or vaccinated.

Truthfully I suspect it's more about keeping people working by having them quarantine for less time and therefore back to work sooner :smh:

Yep, notice how they stress that for 5 days after isolation, the person should wear a mask for an additional 5 days. They know full well folks aren't going to wear their masks. They just don't want Omicron creating larger employee shortages.

That is what I am thinking but boy this country is so fucked up with the anti-VAXers that you have to try something I guess this is a freaking mess. If this virus get any more deadlier this is not going to be a pleasant place in the future…. And yes things would have been 10 times worse if the Republicans was in charge.

Yo I really think there is a employee shortage because a lot of people in certain areas are dying and a lot of people in certain areas are retiring. Like I said earlier the boomers are getting out of Dodge. I know they will hate this but Biden needs to shut down the country for a few weeks to really get this under control but that is going to be very difficult to do so I feel some of his pain right now. This is why we should have had a Competent person in the White House when this shit started right now we are still cleaning up his fucking mess. Also they need to let Joe Biden mandates take hold because there’s too many irresponsible people out there right now.

So what's the next variant after Omicron...and then there's this

You mean Fauci? He should be jailed for all of the death he is responsible for and he is still flip flopping his recommendations :smh:

It's been ALL political theater for 2 fucking years. It's just one group is more skilled at saying  "fuck you, get muh economy going" than the other. If they had 'followed the science', they'd have never stopped with masks and social distancing back in May. Remember the CDC flip flopping on schools in July?

I don't know about you, but none of these people stateside give me confidence. That's why I look overseas for the truth.

Damn this is crazy, I'm out this thread for only a few days and it feels like all hell has broke loose with multiple members and their family members testing positive :smh:

My best wishes to you all and your family on a full recovery.

All of this just reinforces for me how serious this can get and fast with no warning if you aren't diligent.

In less than a month multiple people in my office have tested positive for COVID-19 (and that only includes the ones I'm aware of and who've actually reported it.)

This includes multiple people who sit in extremely close proximity to me and who, had my company not come to their senses and switched us back to remote work earlier this month, would've been putting me at serious risk of contracting this shit:angry:

The crazy thing is we have yet to see the inevitable spike from Christmas and still have New Years Eve to look forward to:smh:

Just got the word from my university that we are returning to the spring semester at full capacity. Same measurements in place like the fall semester.

So this surge ain’t shit. Wait until mid to late January after the college student return. We havent seen the worst of the omicron yet.

Don’t get too cocky yet brother.

It usually takes at least 12 hours before you start experiencing any side effects from the booster shot.

If you do experience any they'll most likely be mild.

I was dealing with headaches for a few days and fatigue.

I got my shot on a Wednesday afternoon and by Friday was so fatigued that I literally didn't wake up until 7:30 pm after going to bed around 12-1am.

Its the morning coming up to 24 hours and nothing.

I got the shots about 930am yesterday morning.

I watched the Matrix last night on HBO with the family and drank 3 Mickey’s. Nothing.

Back in the spring when I got the 2nd Moderna shot. The VA had us sit in a room for about 30 minutes for observation. The nurse in there we asked her had anybody passed out or showed side effects or came back later and she said no.

She stated that with some people, they have so much anxiety from listening to the news and social media about side effects, they get it into their head that something is gonna happen. And when they get the shot, their brain and body responds to the anxiety and they think they are sick when they really aren’t.

I am a US ARMY Veteran. Back when I enlisted in the 80s they pumped us up with everything in the book at the MEPS station and thru-out basic training. At the end of basic if you were going overseas like Germany, they pumped you up and you got more shit when you got to Germany. Nobody questioned it. They had those gun needles that looked like the phasers from the original Star Trek and they would have one gun on each shoulder.

I recently had a medical issue back in 2019. I had not been to a doctor or VA since 1993. They pumped me up with a bunch of vaccines to update my shot records being I had not had anything since the early 90s.

No side effects when they gave me stuff.

All this anti-vaccine shit and conspiracy theories on the vaccine is a bunch of BS in my opinion.

Well, add me to the list. I just got tested and am POSITIVE.

Luckily I'm vaccinated. Took that JnJ vaccine in September and it's working wonders. I literally have no symptoms. They say the omicron strain for vaccinated people is sore/scratchy throat, body aches, cough and fever. I have a scratchy throat that comes and goes. Other than that, NOTHING. It's been about a week since exposure so I'll try to test again next week.

In completely unsurprising news...

States with the U.S.’s lowest vaccination rates lost residents to COVID at a rate two to five times higher than states with high vaccination rates in 2021, according to an analysis of the country’s 458,000 COVID-related deaths and nearly 500 million vaccines administered this year.

The states with the worst COVID death rates in 2021, according to Johns Hopkins University, were Oklahoma and Alabama, whose national vaccination rates rank 37th and 50th, respectively. Oklahoma lost one of every 403 residents to COVID this past year, while Alabama lost one of every 435 residents.

Among the 15 states with highest COVID death rates in 2021, 11 ranked among the 15 lowest for vaccination rates, according to the CDC.

:smh: :smh: :smh:

I agree 100% which is why I've never wavered in how I move and never stopped wearing my mask or keeping my distance even when everyone was looking at me like I was on some paranoid shit.

I also agree that I've stopped listening to any "leaders" in our country when it comes to this and how I move.

Instead I seek out people who actually study this shit, are knowledgeable in these matters and most importantly aren't politically motivated.

As you stated Biden and his administration lost me as soon as they started telling people that they can dead their mask and ignore all other COVID protocols as long as they're vaccinated which I instinctively knew to be bullshit without having to research it.

I agree but it won't even take that long, your students will have been exposed/infect long before then.

I saw the same pattern last year when the numbers began going up after Halloween, then skyrocketed by Thanksgiving and kept going up following Christmas, New Years, and let's not forget the upcoming NFL playoffs.

And that was last year when at least some people were still attempting to rock their mask and social distance. This year they're doing neither.

If Omicron was as deadly as previous variations we would be seeing catastrophic losses.

And yet we all know another variant is right around the corner, who's to say that this Omicron variant isn't just a small preview of whats to come :smh:

Hopefully your university will come to their senses, if not be safe out there brother.
