It's Time for Black America to Break Up With the Democratic Party | Opinion - Newsweek

I'll say this. The democratic party is hard to love but it's a party that black folk can work with. The people just have to get involved with politics, instead of running away from it. It's no different than being involved in your child's education, upbringing, etc... The child is only going to be as good as the parent/s raise them to be. So just voting and disappearing afterwords is setting up failure.

One thing the republican voters are good at is driving their politicians to do what they want but at the same time the republican party is pretty much monolithic. Whereas the democratic party is made up of many different factions competing to be heard and be the voice of a big complex machine.

So what you have to do is start with your local government/party by holding those folks accountable. Forcing them to hold the national government/party accountable. If the local government does not do what you want. Then you should always have someone ready to replace that person or persons.

Yet the problem is that takes work and most people aren't willing to do
the work. So it's easier to walk away. Yet then what?

Today, it's commonplace for white liberals to use hysterical language about white supremacy to gain audience and traction, mobilizing far-reaching "woke" narratives that further erase Black Americans and descendants of U.S. slaves and deny us the chance to advocate for ourselves and receive tangible resources that would improve our lives.

:bravo:

I saw today on this very site someone say something like DeSantis as president would be disastrous for black people......at this point white liberals can just sit back and let the brainwashed hysterics do their job for them.

I agree with this as well.

I feel you... I am an Independent as well. I hate the way they take our votes for granted.

They'll put anyone up in front of us and expect us to go along with it. I'm finished with that crap.

I really think the tide is beginning to turn. We may see it come to fruition in 2024 when they try pushing Kamala and Pete Buttigieg.

What's funny is, it's not enough for you to vote the you want, you want everyone else to do the same. I mean just go be Republicans in peace. Lmao.

The OP doesn't mention Republicans are running an entire campaign on white grievance against teaching about racism in America, like that's the entire campaign - to get white America riled up by saying the country is TOO focused on and sensitive to systematic racism against Black Americans and you got Black people saying, Yep that's the party for me!

LMAO.

Here are your Republicans friends being angry at the Dems setting aside money for black farmers.

“Let me give you an example of something that really bothers me. In this bill, if you’re a farmer, your loan will be forgiven up to 120% of your loan ... if you’re socially disadvantaged, if you’re African American, some other minority. But if you’re [a] white person, if you’re a white woman, no forgiveness. That’s reparations.

Democrats are fucked. Kamala has a 28% polling and it’s not even a year yet.

Mayor Pete is a fag and won’t win plus he will get he won’t get any major black voter turnout.

If it’s Desantis that runs in 2024 it’s pretty much over.

Democrats only hope is if trump get the nomination, maybe they get some trump hater support. But by 2024 who knows if it will matter. I can see a lot of young blacks and you voters don’t even bother with voting as they see no difference in there lives.

You claimed Trump had wrapped up re-election at least 20 times lmao.

I agree with splitting with the Demokkkrats, but in no way does that mean we should automatically go republikkkan.
I don’t care what party we give our votes to, as long as they give something in return for our vote. We need our communities rebuilt from the ground up and the government is at fault for our communities being in shambles.
Whichever party will deliver that result will get my vote.

And here's your Democratic president that 90% of Black people voted for saying that he won't work to abolish the filibuster to protect voting rights:

Biden: 'Nothing at all will get done' if filibuster abolished

Let me know when the filibuster gets abolished.

Here are your Republicans friends being angry at the Dems setting aside money for black farmers.

And here is his Department of "Justice" refuses to appeal a judge's court order to block reparations for Black farmers:
Biden DOJ Declines To Appeal Court Order Blocking Reparations For Black Farmers

Let me know when those farmers actually get paid.

@Big Tex And what are the Democrats doing to stop any of that? Especially your president? Is he making it his "top priority"?

Biden declares LGBTQ rights his No. 1 legislative priority

You should be happy, Biden is taking care of you and your people.

How about Democrats wanting to give millions of dollars to illegal immigrants?
How about the federal vax mandate they said they would never do?
How about forcing payment companies to report transactions over $600?
How about cutting black college budget?
I can go on...

Democrats want us to care more about CRT culture war battles than any of this.

Not once did I promote Dems. I just called out Republicans. So if you and the others aren't pro Republican and anti Dem, you should be agreeing with my posts. Since, you know, you're making demands of both parties as you said.

But it sure looks like that is not the case.

I mean it seems that people that aren't invested in either political party, but just in our community wouldn't feel the need to defend Republicans with whataboutism.

And not once did you call out Dems for not actively fighting against what the GOP is trying to do.
