Not to say that every person who sells their body or sells sex isn't talented, but selling your body or selling sex is an easy way out or an easy come up when your talent isn't enough to carry you

That approach today is rare, which is why I give Mary a break. I've never been a fan of her voice but she's real with singing no voice synthesizers. Can't say that everyone out there selling millions of CDs.

Oh and I'm not a big fan of sistas with blond hair, yet it seems to be working for her. Maybe cause she's nude.. :)

a time when female rappers can go mainstream based off their talent, not based off of how much sex they can sell.

Nah, though she is talented, Mary monetized the women's sense of victimhood. Women LOVE "man done me wrong" songs, and she made anthems! I used to tell guys, if they're taking their girl to a Mary J. concert, you'd better spit your BEST game during the first half of her show, because when she starts doing those victim anthems in the 2nd half, ain't NOBODY getting no pussy!!! Went to one of her shows, because my dude's band was opening for her and Jahiem, and while she was doing the 2nd half of her show, chicks were walking looking like Onyx. Broads were mad for no reason.

Hahahaha this is true. Saw her live and I could hear all the pussy in the room drying up. But that's what her audience wants.
