This is why dialog and conversation is so important, it's good you brought this up. Yes, VERY RECENTLY, within the last several years, there has been a substantial increase in some of the infectious diseases I've mentioned in my discussion, and this is mainly due to significantly reduced vaccination efforts involving those viruses. However, the preceding 20+ years charts a near eradication of some of those same viruses. For example, when the Global Polio Eradication Initiative began in 1988, roughly 350,000 kids a year were paralyzed by the virus. By 2016 that number had been driven down to 42 cases of any type of polio anywhere in the world!!! So why would they all of a sudden curtail their efforts!!!??? I don't claim to have all the answers, but I hold on to several fundamental logical truths when I have to critically think and evaluate a situation. One of those truths is, "the truth is always the easiest event to understand or explain when you have enough information."
As far as the money angle is concerned, even your most basic bottom-of-the-food-chain drug dealer understands it's sometimes necessary to give new customers a free "hit" to get'em hooked because the money is in the re-up / future sales. Think about it, why would you patent a product, you could manufacture it and give the formula away to other countries for free if you had no design(s) on monetizing it in the future???
