Not true at all. Million upon millions of straight heterosexuals, my friends
and relatives included, acquired the disease, and died of it, in the part of
Africa where I come from. The stats were 50-50 men and women
I blame UNECEF, and foreign aid for that. When they were trying to eradicate polio and other diseases they intentionally/unintentionally created the epidemic over there.
No where in the world is there numbers like those infected in Africa.

As for promiscuity, I think that one of the reasons why the disease
spread more than it should, was the same deep suspicion we black
people have of Western medicine, and so while white countries were
prognosticating that AIDS would wipe us out, our governments were
busy burying the data that would have highlighted the scope of the
problem. The power of the Catholic Church, with its resolute stand
against condoms did not help. In Brazil, where the affliction appeared
at more or less the same time, the government incepted a program
to liberally distribute condoms. The result is the surge that happened
in Africa was suppressed by the sensibility of the Brazilian government.
