Reigning Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) women’s bantamweight champion Amanda Nunes, who also wears gold at 145 pounds, was pulled from her upcoming title defense opposite Julianna Pena in the UFC 265 co-main event on Aug. 7 in Houston, Texas.
In addition to Nunes, her wife Nina and daughter Raegan also tested positive for COVID, according to MMA Junkie, but did not indicate the severity of their symptoms. Hopefully they fare a little better than Khamzat Chimaev.
UFC 265 will be headlined by the heavyweight interim title fight pitting Derrick Lewis opposite Ciryl Gane. With just over a week to go until fight night, the promotion will likely slide an existing bout into the co-main event.

Agreed. The scoring is becoming more problematic. Especially with shorter fights (most are 3 rds or less). Bad judging costs people money and negatively impacts career trajectories. Regarding TJ in the main event, I had Corey winning that too. Great fight. 25 min battle. Kudos to TJ for sticking it out on a bad knee, and with the bad cut over his eye. Wasn’t a robbery, but Sandhagen appeared to be more of a victor at the end. He controlled range and caused damage. Though TJ was a zombie and kept pressing plenty of action and exchanges.

True. Definitely wish there were more accountability with them. Compared to refs who often get shit on for bad or missed split-second calls. The judges alter the course of so many bouts, but don’t catch the wrath from fans & media as harshly. They should though.
