I think part of it is an attempt to save his job by starting Dalton

but I also want Fields to come along slowly to see how the offensive line looks first. I don't want him to be killed his first year with poor line play.

Chase struggled with drops and didn’t record a catch on three targets in Cincinnati’s preseason game Friday at Washington. Chase entered the NFL with high expectations despite opting out of the 2020 college football season.

According to ESPN Stats & Information, Chase had six total drops on 124 targets during LSU’s title run in 2019. He finished the season with 1,780 receiving yards and 20 touchdowns.

Man... I just don't think Trevor Lawrence is a generational talent. I get so tired of hearing that on First Take from just about all those dudes on there. We will see, but I think he is a touch too slow for the speed of NFL guys. I think his long limbs are going to be easy picking for ball swipes and leg grabs for sacks. That, plus EVERY defensive player is going to be ready to rock and roll when they play against him. The O line is going to have to be TOP NOTCH to protect him and give him that extra second or so to make a play.
I could be totally wrong. We will see....

He was a decent quarterback on a really good team a lot of quarterbacks like him get exposed in the NFL quickly

Nagy is in over his head as an NFL head coach and play caller, and Fields’ legs are the only thing that will save him with this OLine and Nagy’s offense. Nagy’s gimmick wannabe Andy Reid offense was figured out after 2018; hopefully we can get thru this season with Fields in one piece and Nagy fired.

Preseason or not; Trubisky just showed what can be done running an NFL-caliber offense behind an NFL OLine last week. Shit was embarrassing.
