People be very careful this virus is not done yet

Got yall thinkin that everybody who don't get the shot gonna 100% get covid. SMH
Like saying everybody who smash gonna get aids or if you don't get the flu shot you'll come down wit it.
Fuck outta here

Not a fair analogy.

By this point people have made up their minds where they stand. For sanity sake, I just listen and nod.

After delta another one will conviently pop up that the so called vaccine dont work on.
So on & so forth.
Bottom line is the shit don't do what it supposed to do or dont work at all.

Do flu vaccines work? Why is there a new one every year?

Never took that shit a day in my life.
Had the flu only once over 20 yrs ago

I take it every year since I've been diagnosed with a heart condition. There is a new one every year because it is an RNA (retro) virus. RNA viruses can mutate when they replicate, creating new strains. Every year the flu vaccine is effective for 3-5 different strains.

Covid is an RNA virus. Since folks didn't, couldn't or wouldn't lock down, wear masks and social distance when all this started, it has mutated. It will continue to mutate because folks are STILL refusing to do these things or get vaccinated.

Retrovirus vs. DNA Virus
A DNA virus is a virus in which the genetic information is stored in the form of DNA (deoxyribonucleic acid). It replicates using a DNA-dependent DNA polymerase. The nucleic acid is usually double-stranded DNA (dsDNA) but may also be single-stranded DNA (ssDNA). Examples of DNA viruses are the herpes simplex virus and the poxvirus.

Retroviruses use their RNA and a special enzyme called reverse transcriptase to create DNA, which then specifies RNA, which in turn creates proteins. The retrovirus then integrates its viral DNA into the DNA of the host cell, which enables replication of the retrovirus. The extra step makes retroviruses more prone to mutation than most viruses, causes them to evolve more quickly than other viruses. This process makes the HIV retrovirus, the best-known human retroviral disease that causes AIDS, very resistant to treatment.

I understand all of that fully and have no problem with people who choose to get a shot or 3 if they need or want it.
My issue is with those who make it seem as though if people like me don't get the shot that they aren't continuing to take the same precautions that have kept them and their fam covid free since day one.
Don't need to be fixed if it ain't broke in my case and maaaany others.

I just don't want to lose any more BGOL folks anytime soon or see people with regrets. If it weren't for the Delta variant being so contagious, I probably wouldn't have gotten vaccinated. I was also taking precautions. I work from home. I only have to go to the store once every 1-2 weeks for stuff I can't get or don't want delivered, and then trying to go early or off hours. Since Delta, and stores not enforcing mask mandates or social distancing, it became too risky. Some stores aren't even spraying down carts anymore.

We aren't at max capacity for hospitals or anything in my area, but other places are, and some hospitals are picking who they admit, and I don't expect black folks to be high on the list.

There goes the problem.. once these vaccinations came out everybody became extra relax on the protocols.. less mask, less cleaning protocols, less precautions.. it’s like if people told you it’s a war going outside but than the government said they giving out free bullet proof vest.. nigs like free bullet proof vest that means we can walk around when all them bullets flying and bombs going off..no nig you still can die with that vest on so move around with caution.. the vaccine became the bullet proof vest in the middle of war

Because the hospitals are overrun with people like you, who thought it would never happen to them until it did. If we had a system whereby you signed something saying you were taking full responsibility for you and your family for COVID and if any of you got it, you would stay at home and never seek medical help, I would say fine.

But you making it so there are no beds available for people that need them and didn't play russian roulette shouldn't happen.

Second point. You can take all the precautions you want. If you or any of your family members go outside of your home, you are all at risk.

If you wear a mask and use sanitizer and go to the supermarket, If I decide I'm not wearing a mask and I have covid, I can go to the supermarket and give it to you and there is not a single thing you can do to stop it with this delta variant until these boosters start being administered.

So yes, precautions are great and tallblack is right, we started slipping and we all need to keep doing them. But right now, everyone needs to get the vaccine to keep the hospitals from being full.

Interesting they basically tried this in college... remember?

Why couldn't they do the same here?

I got a client..that had the vaccine...and gave it to his grandma...she had the vaccine as well...she died Saturday...they say she had underlying conditions...it's a sad week...for her...brah

BRUH!!!!!!!! Her ass is bout to be in prison and so is the chick she working with

Oh shit some heads are going to roll for this and also this is probably part of the reason why this virus is out of control again before I tell you do you have to make example out of these people
