Confession: I Hate The Fucking Beach

I know that this an unpopular opinion...sacrilegious to some...but I don't get the fascination around spending time doing absolutely nothing but laying in the hot fucking sun, removing sand from every crevice in my body, and wading in an unpredictable body of water. I don't mind walking on the boardwalk, eating fresh seafood...but that idle laying up baking in the sun on sand is for the birds.


So here I am on vacation with Wifey, who absolutely loves the beach, and my punk ass is suffering inside because I'd much rather spend my time getting to learn as much as I can about the local cultures, people, food, realestate etc...Happy Wife...Happy Life.

BTW...we're in Panama . For those who haven't visited...add it to your bucket list. It's a dope country with lots of diverse things to do.

I feel the same way. I hate it. When I do go, I get me a room on the beach and enjoy whatever town I'm in until close to sunset. Then around that time I take my cooler down to the beach, post up, and sip & smoke. Some nights I will find a beach bar and enjoy that as well. I have never understood laying out in the sun at the hottest part of the day on a fucking beach.

I actually agree with you. I've never been a beach person. Laying out in the sun drinking never interested me. If Im near water I either want to swim or fish....that's it. Never got the appeal of just sitting in the sun cooking. I'd much rather see the sights and talk to the locals.

Maybe its just me but South Beach didn't impress me the museums I went to sucked and the beach had a bunch of land whales. I did get a haircut in Cinco de Mayo section of Panama City...$6 for a great cut I normally pay $25 for back in the states.

Also...got a manicure and pedicure from a really nice older woman's shop. She removes years worth of dry skin from my dogs ..charged me $12. I fucking love

I've realized I'm not much of a beach person myself. I don't hate it, but I really never have a desire to go. I grew up in the Norfolk / Va. Beach area and can recall going to the beach only a handful of times in 23 yrs there. I was stationed on Okinawa for 2 years, lived in an apartment facing the ocean and only went to the beach twice

Nah we just got back from the jungle gym beach but the gym part was closed. We just ate some food at the restaurant and chilled by the beach. We rode electric bicycles, tired than a muthafucka.

Liked the beach as a kid cause it was fun to play in the water and then go play shit on the boardwalk. As an adult, I very rarely actually go to the beach to be out on the sand, but I still like the boardwalk. ...and I do like the view of the water, waves, etc. Every so often though some white friends will invite me to go with them to the beach and I quickly come up with some shit to get out of it though because their going to the beach is 3-4 hours of hanging out on the sand.

Off season though when parking isn't a problem, and there is no charge to get out there(fuckin Jersey) I like to go out near the water to take pics and shit.

That's what's up. I was actually gonna post a similar experience but didn't want to get too corny. But, one of the best feelings after nodding off on the beach is opening your eyes to see nothing but blue sky and a few puffy clouds. And knowing that you need not rush off anywhere...

As someone who doesn't get a lot of opportunities to just be still and relax, I can honestly say one of the best times I've had was on a birthday I traveled out alone and chilling most of the day on a beach with a big umbrella, cool breeze, drinks, phone off, no one bothering me just enjoying the scenery and having that ability to relax. Not think about work, obligations, projects to be completed, nothing.. Just the sweet sounds of the waves, a nice drink, peace, and serenity.

I only do beaches in the Caribbean. Crystal clear water, good fresh food, some drinks and fine damn near naked women.
Go enjoy the water then relax in some shade and eat and relax.
That laying out in the sun shit and not hitting the water defeats the whole purpose of going.

Only go to Jones beach for shows and Atlantic City to gamble. Not touching that dirty ass water.
