Official 2025 NFL Discussion!!!

On a side note:
Is it too early for possible playoff predictions?

Right now I'm thinking in the NFC, maybe:
1) Packers
2) Bears
3) Bucs
4) Cowboys?
5) Seahawks
6) 49ers
7) Cardinals?

:dunno: :dunno:
I was about to debate this but looking at the other teams, you may be right. You could probably just say NFC East for the Cowboys you know how that division plays up to the final game.

In seed order....

1) Bucs
2) Rams
3) Packers
4) NFCE? (I have no clue)
5) Seahawks
6) Vikings
7) Cardinals

I know you could definitely add the Rams to the playoff picture
Its crazy though b/c each team in the West could legit win over 8+ games
I think its going to come down to who is healthy (injuries)

Only reason I picked the Cards over the Rams is b/c of depth
The Rams lost quite a few backups this offseason
Its basically Stafford...Ramsey...Donald.....and "the rest of them ninjas"
So I'm not sure how they will hold up for 17 games :dunno:

Good observations, and......
...a lot of teams, including yours (think Bosa) will be short-handed throughout the year because of COVID+ players every week.
So basically, there might be a lot of "the rest of them ninja" rosters this year. lol

Is Ben Roethlisberger the reason the Steelers offense crumbled?
(Content blocked from embedding, so click watch on youtube)

No. It was ultimately the offensive line, the offensive line coach and the offensive coordinator. Throw heavy footed James Connor in there as well. Randy Fichtner's offense became too predictable without the threat of a running game. No play action, Ben always in the shotgun, never going downfield, not having Claypool on the field enough (that's Tomlin's fault) the ridiculous zone blocking scheme of taking a step back before firing off (Chuck Noll once famously said he who gets his hands on the other individual usually wins that battle). Those are the reasons why the offense crumbled. It's easy and lazy to simply blame Ben. If you watched the Steelers games like I have you would know it was a combination of all these things.

yeah it wasn't Ben. run. the. damn. ball.

You think the Bears will miss the playoffs with Justin Fields possibly at QB?
I don't know fam? :dunno:
They won 8 games last year with mediocre ass Nick Foles & Mich Trubisky

Good Point - Looking at the Bears Schedule - i'm thinking that 10 or 11 wins gets you in...

Sunday, Sept. 12 at Los Angeles Rams, 7:20 p.m. - L - i expect the rams to be much improved

Sunday, Sept. 19 VS. CINCINNATI BENGALS, Noon - Toss up - Burrow hasn't looked great in camp and this game could be shootout

Sunday, Sept. 26 at Cleveland Browns, Noon - L - Browns aren't playing around this year, baker could prob QB this team with one arm tied behind his back and they still get in the playoffs

Sunday, Oct. 3 VS. DETROIT LIONS, Noon - W - i think the Lions will be improved, but they aren't there yet

Sunday, Oct. 10 at Las Vegas Raiders, 3:05 p.m.* - Tossup - Raiders are tough

Sunday, Oct. 17 VS. GREEN BAY PACKERS, Noon* - L

Sunday, Oct. 24 at Tampa Bay Buccaneers, 3:25 p.m.* - L

Sunday, Oct. 31 VS. SAN FRANCISCO 49ERS, Noon* - L

Monday, Nov. 8 at Pittsburgh Steelers, 7:15 p.m. - Tossup - If Ben is still playing and playing well, this will be an L - who knows, if Mason Rudolph is playing, this will be a W for the bears

BYE WEEK

Sunday, Nov. 21 VS. BALTIMORE RAVENS, Noon* - L

Thursday, Nov. 25 at Detroit Lions (Thanksgiving), 11:30 a.m. - W

Sunday, Dec. 5 VS. ARIZONA CARDINALS, Noon* - Tossup - I dont know about this one - Cardinals should be better this year and should be battling for the NFC west title - but i can see the bears winning this game as well

Sunday, Dec. 12 at Green Bay Packers, 7:20 p.m.* - L

Monday, Dec. 20 VS. MINNESOTA VIKINGS, 7:15 p.m - W. - as I said before, i think Kirk will get Covid again and they will trade his dumb ass - Zimmer is about fed up with Kirk and that press conference that he just gave didn't help matters

Sunday, Dec. 26 at Seattle Seahawks, 3:05 p.m.* - L

Sunday, Jan. 2 VS. NEW YORK GIANTS, Noon* - W

Sunday, Jan. 9 at Minnesota Vikings, Noon* - W

So even with all the tossups and all the Ws, i have the bears at 9 wins...this is a tough schedule but i'm thinking the NFC west is going to take 3 of the playoff spots this year in the Cardinals, niners, and Rams - also the seahawks could sneak in as well...they are going to be beating each other up this year, but this could be the best division in football top to bottom..

Anybody has Calvin Johnson’s HOF speech?
Its tonight.

Those being posted were last nights, which honored the 2020 Hall of fame which was cancelled last year.

Tonight we get 2021 HoF class: Peyton Manning, John Lynch, Calvin Johnson, Charles Woodson and Alan Faneca are being inducted as modern-day players at Tom Benson Hall of Fame Stadium. Tom Flores will enter in the coaching category, Drew Pearson in the senior category.
