Jackie Robinson was a great baseball player and social activist whose a pioneer for whites...him playing baseball on THEIR field was a progressive move for them.
Joe Lewis beating max schmeling was a political move as well as Jesse Owens beating nazis at the Olympics.
This is what makes their stance so disingenuous...they're not against politics or social activism in sports.... their against sociopolitical criticism of america in sports.

I will say this, most, and I mean most athletes are conservative. We are taught not to buck the system. We are taught a system that works, and you don't fight against the system that works. Let's us take George as an example. George was your neighborhood bad boy. He was on the path to prison, but was pushed toward the Job Corps. While there, he learned to box. If I box, I don't get into trouble. If I box, I can get rich in famous. Shit, I am boxing and following this system. This system took me out of poverty, so, I ain't going against this system. This is most folk who have limited education in all countries. Further, most of us (African-American/African) are conservative.
