Simone Biles out of the Olympics

yeah something's been off with her since the trials..

wife and I were watching the trials and she was way ahead of everybody else based on points but was having a really off night ...she missed on the parallel bars, fell off the balance beam, landed outside of the mat on the floor exercise etc.

was hoping that she would shake it off and be in the right headspace by the time she got to Tokyo but it looks like its continuing. shes still the GOAT but hopefully Jordan chiles can be the savior and put the team on her back ...that sista's a powerhouse

It's a hard game to participate in. There are no fans, they are in an uncomfortable bubble.

Nne of the enjoyment of the Olympics which are the fans the sights the intermingling and exchanges of tokens.

Fuck this money grab

Them having to train for an additional year is the hard part. They were training for last year, then having to stop and recontinue for a off year

Ryan Murphy was defeated by 2 Russians in the pool yesterday; the Russians handed
the US men's volleyball team a defeat; now that the US women's gymnastic teams has
also been defeated by the Russians, we have to wonder how much of a reduction the
Russians would have made to the US medal count, had they been allowed to participate
in Rio

The US should have pressed for the continued ban of Russia from the Olympics;

It is looking increasingly as if the US will have to depend on the men doing something
in the 100 and 200meter sprints.

"Simone Biles out of team finals"

TEAM FINALS.....Not the whole Olympics

The team finals is today.
Doesn't say anything about the individual competition

After Simone Biles's Stunning Withdrawal, Russia Wins Gold Medal

In the biggest upset for the United States at the Tokyo Games, Simone Biles withdrew from the gymnastics team competition after it had started on Tuesday, handing Russia’s squad a path to victory and ending American domination of the event for more than a decade.
© Doug Mills/The New York Times The U.S. team congratulated the Russian gymnasts.

Biles, the American gymnastics star, pulled out of the event “due to a medical issue,” according to a statement from U.S.A. Gymnastics, the national governing body of the sport.
“She will be assessed daily to determine medical clearance for future competitions,” the statement said.

Russia finished with a total score of 169.528, more than three points ahead of the United States at 166.096. Britain won the bronze medal with a score of 164.096.

The Russian team had surprised the Americans in qualifying on Sunday, raising the pressure even higher for the U.S. team to maintain its dominance in the sport. The Americans were aware of their impressive winning streak, which included Biles and the team called “the Final Five” at the 2016 Rio Games and Gabby Douglas and “the Fierce Five” at the 2012 London Games.

The last time the United States lost a team final in the Olympics or world championships was back in 2010, to Russia. Since then, the United States has been far ahead of the world in the sport, winning world championships and Olympics by at least four points. At the 2016 Rio Olympics, the Americans crushed the Russians by more than eight points.

The U.S. team in Tokyo did what it could to preserve its legacy of success. Biles, the greatest gymnast in history, performed her signature moves that elevate her well above her competition — and far above the floor — but even then it wasn’t enough to beat Russia.
One day after its men’s team won the Olympic gold medal, the Russian team’s women executed its challenging routines with precision and grace, and the U.S. team simply could not keep up. It didn’t help the Americans’ confidence that it came into the final trying to bounce back from a second-place finish to Russia in qualifying.
During that qualification on Sunday, Biles and some of her teammates made uncharacteristic mistakes because they were nervous. Biles stumbled on her balance beam dismount, taking a huge step and several tiny ones backward. On the floor exercise, she stepped so far out of bounds that she slid down the edge of the slanted, raised competition surface. On vault, she stepped off the mat after landing.
Those errors, as well as those of her teammates, were wiped clean for Tuesday’s final. Yet even though United States took a deep breath and tried to gather its composure, it wasn’t enough to reestablished itself at the top.

If She pulled out the team final but come back for her individual medals thats going to be an even worse look for her.

She pretty much let the side down after years of hype for this moment. Her "noping" out of the team and then trying to come back for indivudal glory will show her not being a team player to go along with the arrogant tag she's put on herself. I'd say her advertising appeal is pretty much done at that point.

Chiyo, I will be happy of Letensebet Gidey can take the 500m and 10, 000m gold medals away from
that steroids fuelled Ethiopian who runs for the Netherlands, Sifan Hassan

OK, That's the only thing she was missing. OP said the OLYMPICS

Man even though I wasn’t watching the Olympics at did one of her to win a medal but the way things are going this year we have to call a Mulligan most of the US teams. A lot of their heart wasn’t into it this year

It is in basketball, in the pool (where both and Ledecky and Murphy were defeated);
The arrogant Lilly King was being demolished by the Boer Schoenmaker, when the
17-year old American, Lydia Jacoby, came to the rescue

Caucasoids got their wish. Especially with them wanting to penalize her for the incredible acrobatics she can perform and as they said are difficult/dangerous to others. They wanted to score on a curve. Respect to the greatest to ever do it.
