Frito-Lay workers in Kansas are being forced to work 12-hour days, 7 days a week, in a dangerous factory.

Gotcha Bruh. I wish you lived there. This shit is akin to an ecosystem and one species relies on the next for shit to operate properly.

It's not their job to be worked to the point of exhaustion for the sake of a fuckin' CEO and Stockholder's excessive salaries either.

You act like that workforce ain't providing shit for the family of the upper management. You make this shit seem ONE WAY, as though Frito fucking Lay is providing employment out of benevolence or some shit. It's give and take, and they ain't giving what they should be.
That guy has a shitty perspective. I can see why Jesus made him wait.

it's American entitlement bro. Travel the world and see how much people work in other countries. Once again, Frito Lay is a business that can run it within reason any way they want. You are free to not work there. My advice to people in a screwed position, do what you need to do in the interim and save to either move or invest or work in something else, which should have been done anyway. No one should just expect to have the same job for 30 years and not have anything prepared in case something goes wrong. That's just dumb.

Have you ever thought that's you're dumb?

Don't invest in education and infrastructure, and you can create thousands of poorly educated to toil for you. You act like people with horrible backgrounds in math, science and reading can go to community College after working 12 hour shifts and improve themselves?

I'm being realistic. Some people simply can't learn advanced skill sets based on the base learning they have. America is full of them, and they stay put and create more uneducated people.

And that's the plan. You had a problem when reading and writing were illegal? Fine you can learn and read garbage and you won’t be able to discern garbage from facts.

capitalism will always chase that first high of free labor.

Sweatshop wages in the US...you're cool with it. Frito Lay can move their operations offshore and face supply chain issues like we're seeing right now.

How fucked were we for PPE because all of these Corps. that wanna pay shit for wages and production was moved.

Now that China is the No. 2 economy in the world, do you see how well their middle class is doing? Is it due to Chinese entitlement? No. Their wages are a reflection of how well they are doing overall.

We in #bidensAmerica now pimp

And these people negotiated extra pennies and 1 day off. This is the Right wing American plan. Do this and blame Mexicans, Blacks and others so they have someone to hate while the "hardworking American" gets shafted.

I work with red state folks and they love the corporations like family. Offshore they laid off a bunch of people last October and cut pay 20-30% across the fleet. 3 months later and the industry is booming so what did the company do? They hired people off the streets with no knowledge to operate million dollar machinery and pay them 50% of the old rate. That requires me to do the work of 2 people as I don't have the time to teach hydraulics, electronics, high voltage, fiber optics, navigation, networking and basic computer skills to people that can barely use a cell phone.

I told them cac's, I'm going back to Africa where the techs have skill and I'll make an extra $150 a day. But most of them don't have passports or any inclination to leave the US. Fucking pathetic.

Don't compare us to China because the conditions of work and laws are nowhere close to being the same. The American worker is way more protected. Also, there is way more freedom with capitalism to have your own business and generate your own income.

Sidenote: Going back and forth with Shaka is cool because he sticks to the argument and doesn't throw personal jabs like a bitch. Hint, hint.

But you seem to think that applying those protections makes one a victim...how Sway? You seem to be all in on Corporations not having to abide by those Labor laws.

We've seen how supply and demand of labor has gone for McDonald's franchisees and others during this pandemic. They have been forced to finally come up off of a better wage if they want to stay in business.

Today marks 12 years since the minimum wage was raised to $7.25 — the longest period without a raise in the history of the minimum wage. That is egregious.
If the minimum wage kept up with productivity gains since 1968, it would be $24/hour today. $15/hour is the floor, not the ceiling, of what working people deserve. What do you think?

(Not YOU @lazarus you've made your position perfectly clear) :smh: :giggle:

you moving the goal post and the issue at hand has nothing to do with minimal wage.

It's not about moving the goalposts it's about expanding your vantage point. It's about trying to give you another perspective. But the problem is when he tells you about the minimum wage you're going to respond that the minimum wage in those countries are less.
No, that assumes I don't already know the current environment at hand. I'm well versed in capitalism, I lived in America, and have a global view and how the world works. If anything, that should give you a reason to not just depend on one company for your survival.

You think they were striking over a maximum wage? That's what management is making.

The issue is that their wages have been stagnant for a long period of time and is not keeping up, while CEO salaries and benefits continue to go through the roof. YES, by default, they are indeed striking over a maximum wage at the top. Cap them muhfuckas. :hmm:

That minimum wage scale is NOT moving the goal post, it is a gleaming example of the shit that you tend to champion and think that the worker should just UP and move to where YOU are to make a better wage or to somehow hone skills and crafts out of nowhere.

You seem to lack empathy for the working class. You want them to grasp for bootstraps that they don't have.

Well FUCK! How many jobs ARE you working? Do you think that this should be the norm in a country with OUR GDP?

1 day off per week and 2% a year, man fuck that. Americans killed unions and are killing themselves for scraps. These corporation are laughing their asses off at this bitch ass strike:smh:
Americans killed unions because they couldn’t deny black members anymore.

Nope. The issue at hand is the amount of hours. The company didn't decide the minimal wage of the state, by the way. So blaming them is the wrong way to go about it. They are in the business of making money, period. They aren't created for the benefit of others.

You act like people are too stupid to survive unless someone creates a job so they can work. Otherwise, they just wait around until someone tells them what to do to feed their family. It's preposterous.

Once again, it's not a business job to provide for you and your family. That is on you.

It's not a business' job to drain a workforce of every ounce of energy that they have to give. I'd love it if those workers had an alternative to resort to en masse and let that plant shut down.

You act like that Corporation weren't smart enough to place that plant where they could make the most profit that they could.
You don't seem to acknowledge that without the workforce, they wouldn't be making the profits that they are. That the Corp can't benefit solely for being in a particular location whether they have a proficient workforce or not.

You're hung up on what a person has to do to provide for his family but you don't seem to understand that striking for better wages and conditions doesn't fall under that umbrella.

How is it that you only see shit from the top down?

My job is the stock market. I taught myself. I'm not worrying about someone else creating a job for me to survive.
What did you do prior to that? Are you living solely off of your dividends? Is that what it is?

It's not relevant. The jobs I had before, I didn't depend on my salary. I've always looked for other ways to make money for the long term. Your life shouldn't be centered around working for someone else to get rich. It's learning to do something before you create your own avenue to make money to support you for life.

Wrong. The Corporation will offer as low as they can get enough workers to complete the job. They only need the minimal it takes to make the most profits.

It doesn't because you are still depending on someone else. Like I said before, if this is a short term strategy, so be it. But the end goal should be to not be dependent on a company. Period.

If Frito Lay decides to move the plant, then what? Everyone just dies off because they can't do nothing else to feed their family? Stop.

Look at what's happened in the Appalachian states.

Do you not think that you are the exception to the rule? Do you hang out in a Cigar Bar with 30 or 40 other self-made stockbrokers?

The demographics have no bearing on personal responsibility. No one should depend on a job. If the job market is garbage, move.
You sound like a privileged person.. you seem to not know about dead end towns where there is lack of money and opportunities and is slightly disconnected from modern info and tech.. there are towns all over the United States that you can go to right now and feel like you went back in time to the 80s and 90s.. the mentality of those people in town would be so off you’ll feel like you in the flinstone era.. how do I know about these towns, well “scouting” trips certain individuals in the adult entertainment purposely go into these areas to seek females who they know are stuck in these towns and promise them a whole diff life if they join them.. strippers, pornstars, escorts , webcam, etc are literally created thanks to these stuck towns.. go to a place like this and you find a few potential chicks and bring them back to whatever state that a person or company operates out of… just 1 of the tactics used in the adult entertainment.. so muchhhh untapped talent everywhere..they just need a person to show them a situation.. but yeah there are a lot of small pockets of shitty towns all over America

it doesn't have to be stockbrokers and I don't care about poor white trash in the Applalachian states. Most black people I know can hustle and aren't dumb hicks.

you just said their mentality....that's their problem. If there aren't opportunities, move. It's not rocket science. Most people I know of color are in major cities. Sounds like a white problem.

I just had an image of Lazarus beating the shit outta street urchins with an elaborate cane yelling, "Bah, get a job!"

I have an image of the plant closing and a bunch of people shooting themselves because they do not know how to make money because one job is gone. welp, life is over. My entire existence was based on them existing.

I guess all the poor people in the world could just move to places with opportunity with ease right?.. no reason to have 3rd world countries than..they could just move.. who would’ve thunk that’s all it had to take to solve 1 of the worlds biggest problem.. I wonder if half a billion people around the world could just move to new York would nyc have a half a billion homes available for them? Would a half of billion jobs and opportunities just become available

1 day off per week and 2% a year, man fuck that. Americans killed union power and are killing themselves for scraps. What a shit deal. These corporation are laughing their asses off at this bitch ass strike:smh:
This. My company spent billions to weaken our unions. Yet dumb fuckers in Texas, Oklahoma, Louisiana, Alabama, and Florida hate the unions. My salary and benefits are still straight but the future engineers are fucked.
