it's American entitlement bro. Travel the world and see how much people work in other countries. Once again, Frito Lay is a business that can run it within reason any way they want. You are free to not work there. My advice to people in a screwed position, do what you need to do in the interim and save to either move or invest or work in something else, which should have been done anyway. No one should just expect to have the same job for 30 years and not have anything prepared in case something goes wrong. That's just dumb.

I work with red state folks and they love the corporations like family. Offshore they laid off a bunch of people last October and cut pay 20-30% across the fleet. 3 months later and the industry is booming so what did the company do? They hired people off the streets with no knowledge to operate million dollar machinery and pay them 50% of the old rate. That requires me to do the work of 2 people as I don't have the time to teach hydraulics, electronics, high voltage, fiber optics, navigation, networking and basic computer skills to people that can barely use a cell phone.
I told them cac's, I'm going back to Africa where the techs have skill and I'll make an extra $150 a day. But most of them don't have passports or any inclination to leave the US. Fucking pathetic.

It's not about moving the goalposts it's about expanding your vantage point. It's about trying to give you another perspective. But the problem is when he tells you about the minimum wage you're going to respond that the minimum wage in those countries are less.

Wrong. The Corporation will offer as low as they can get enough workers to complete the job. They only need the minimal it takes to make the most profits.
