What series are you referring to?Reboot series is in the Omega post in my tv thread and you need to fucking see it right now...
Like as soon as you finish this..
Go watch it.
It's a masterpiece.
What series are you referring to?
Double toasted review is almost beat for beat exactly what I thought about this show...
Especially the ending of Episode 5 which is fucking insane!!
The Joker moonlighting as Skelator....
fucking Masters of Pandering
worst of all - just really lazy fucking writing
Loved the art style, loved the animation, and all the characters they brought back, I even liked the uncovering of the "secrets of greyskull"....but this whole womens empowerment thing is where it gets hokey AF for me. We had She-Ra we don't need Teela to become the new He-Man and her to be a lesbian, and revealed to be some kin of the Sorceress, like I expected waaay more from Kevin Smith than this.
I can appreciate them making a brotha the first He-Man, but the rest of the story is nuts, especially how Skeletor is just un-phased by all that he sees and learns, whereas he'd spend entire episodes sulking or scheming after a loss. It took him 40 yrs to learn who He-Man was, the source of the power that he sought, and then to actually achieve it and we get nothing more than the Joker from Batman...GTFOH! They BETTER bring the star of the show back in the next half of the series.
I hate the misuse of the word Woke. Georgia Anne and Badu created that word for Black power and awareness. This slander shit is asinine
Woke has been around longer than that....
but yeah I hate how people use it now...
It's always meant to be used in like "We (Black People) always need to stay WOKE" Meaning awake of our situations and don't get fooled by the white man.
Quoting Lead Belly - "I advise everybody, be a little careful when they go along through there – best stay woke, keep their eyes open"
That's how I always thought of Staying Woke.

It's always been known that Teela is the daughter of the Sorceress
That's was in the classic Teela's quest episode
If you look at these first five episodes ... it looks like the Show is expanding on the themes from that episode.
I've got issues with the show... but Teela does deserve a bigger part.

Bitch please mark hamil did a good job the of voice actor prolly dead. Mufuckas just love to complain on the internetThe Joker moonlighting as Skelator....

Ok see I'm getting confused I thought that was already established long ago
Did I miss them addressing it on the new series?
Hold on so I finished the first 5
They confirmed Teela is gay and Teela is related to the Sorceress?
And they couldn't use she-ra in this...
I'm waiting to see all this come together before I really go in depth.
Does this show connect to the 2002 series? In the old series the Sorcerous erased Teela's memories so she didn't remember that she was her daughter
A Couple characters in the new series wanted to tell her but something happened to prevent them
Man of Arms was going to tell her in episode 1 before she quit everything.
I definitely liked how in the Negative verse when she was fighting her fears that outlined her with the same light that her Mother's powers show.
Teela fully coming to own and accepting her destiny as the one to protect the castle .... is really the big shoe left in the He-Man series .... I think they explored this in the new version because OG He-man wasn't a serialized show. Since this is a sequel I think this might actually work....
I love He-Man but I will admit that I hated how Teela was portrayed in the OG series.
Also it's really hard to completely judge a show off of 5 30 minute episodes...

wait.
how did y'all not know teela was the daughter of the soceress? that was revealed in the old filmation's he man
gray skull's surprise i was not expecting. nor was i expecting to see Vykun
also it's surprising the original voice of kringer is speaking for moss man
I think they're reaching because the hair and she has a female friend.Also...
So I read a few dudes on here say Teela was gay...
Did I miss something?
I'm not even saying I disagree necessarily but is this all based on Lyn telling her she secretly holds a torch for someone?
Cause couldn't that be Adam?
Just saying
I think they're reaching because the hair and she has a female friend.
I think you are right she loves adam/he man.
You can't have her have a Male companion and have her be in love with adam/he man so it makes sense for her to have a female friend.
People are so quick to label something woke
Oh that's coming lolLook I understand it ain't perfect and I ain't trying to cape for kevin and them
But I feel like a lot folks went in hyper critical before seeing a full minute
The fact that every episode it got better I think is important and positive
Remember it isn't ONLY FOR FANS.
And it's the first part...
They gotta set the table some what
Also again going in with preconceived notions and the whole woke thing...
I wonder if they had shown that the original he man was black...
First episode
And we had to wait a week for episode two
What would the reaction be?
Cause I bet those same basement dwellers would be flipping out
In fact I wonder how THAT is being received?
Cause they gonna make sure to focus on Teela... but they not gonna be able to help themselves...
Just watch.
