Damn, Celtics basically just gave Kemba away for a bag of Cheetos.
I was at that 2011 Final Four here in Houston when he led UConn to the National Championship.
That performance and his performance in the Big East tourney that year was one of the best postseason runs in college basketball history.
He had some good seasons in Charlotte, but the injury bug always bit him and it's clear now he's on the downswing of his career.
Naw they didn't give him away. He and Hortford are about the same caliber of player. They also got Moses Brown too. They didn't give him away. Hell I'd say the Celtics got the better end of the deal honestly.Damn, Celtics basically just gave Kemba away for a bag of Cheetos.

He was called up for the OKC G league when covid hit and the G league went away. Imo, there should always be a place for a shooter in the NBA. The kid is a lifetime 40% 3 point shooter. Too many GMs really don't know what the fuck they are doing.Kind of want to see this....LIangelo can't even stick in the G League though?

Its the Jimmy Frederette argument though...If that jumper not falling then what are you offering to me? Gotta be able to D it out or rebound or SOMETHING. He seems like he'd be the perfect 3 and D guy honestly....He was called up for the OKC G league when covid hit and the G league went away. The Boston Celtics Don’t Actually Have To Trade Kemba Walker
Kemba Walker may or may not be unhappy in Boston, while the Celtics almost certainly would love to move his hefty contract if it made sense for them. None of that necessarily means he will, or should, be traded this offseason.www.forbes.com
Where is Kemba Walker going? While it’s impossible to know which reports to believe regarding the team’s highest-paid player, it’s curious that everybody just expects the Boston Celtics to move on from their starting point guard. In reality, this decision might be out of either party’s hands.
Sports Illustrated’s Chris Mannix first reported that Walker was upset with the Celtics following last offseason’s failed trade attempts. For what it’s worth, the Celtics immediately and rather vehemently denied the report and Kedow Walker, Kemba’s cousin, called it “bogus as hell” on Twitter. True or not, the news story has fueled speculation that the point guard will be on a different team next season.
It would, quite frankly, be shocking if Walker wasn’t frustrated after last season’s campaign. Obviously, the main problem for Walker was that he never fully recovered from the knee injury he suffered the previous season. Walker didn’t even see the court until a few months into the 2020-21 season and the Celtics never reached a point where they were comfortable playing him on the second night of back-to-backs.
Even if he had been fully healthy, however, Walker might not have had the most enjoyable time. Walker signed with the Celtics with the expectation that he would be the team’s number one option, essentially taking on Kyrie Irving’s role. However, in the two years he’s spent in Boston, Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown have clearly emerged as the nucleus of the team, essentially making Walker a more complimentary player. When Walker was starting last season, he seemed to be playing the Gordon Hayward role and, as it turned out, even Hayward wasn’t completely comfortable playing the Hayward role for Boston.
So, Walker hasn’t been the ideal fit that he seemed to be when he signed the four-year, $141 million deal with the Celtics in 2019. This leads us to the main reason he could be on the outs with the organization: the team really was actively shopping him around last off-season. It was hard not to compare it to the Isaiah Thomas situation a few years back where the Celtics had Thomas play through serious injuries and then promptly rewarded him with a trade to the Cleveland Cavaliers.
It gets worse. The main reason that the Celtics didn’t move on from Walker is that other teams don’t see the value in Walker. The injury situation is worrisome, the contract is hefty and it’s not entirely sure if he will ever be the player he was during his last few seasons with the Charlotte Hornets.
If the Celtics really did try their best to get out of Walker’s contract last season, and by all accounts they did, it doesn’t feel like Walker will be much more attractive this time around. Walker’s injury situation has not really improved and he still has two years and $73.7 million left on his contract (although that last year is a potential opt-out year). Finding a trading partner seems like it will be tricky enough, working out a deal that would work out to their advantage seems all-but-impossible. So far, the most commonly mentioned trade targets are Kristaps Porzingis, who has $101.5 million left on his contract and is at least an equal risk health-wise, and old friend Al Horford, which sounds a bit more like wishful thinking from a certain segment of the fanbase than something that would actually really happen.
It’s a tricky situation and it probably won’t help that the person making that decision, former head coach Brad Stevens, will essentially be learning on the job for the foreseeable future. Still, this fact adds an interesting wrinkle to the Walker situation: even if the reports about Walker’s unhappiness happen to be true, that might not mean as much now that Danny Ainge is no longer the GM. Although he certainly influenced front office decisions, Stevens was not the ultimate decision-maker.
This is all leading to a key point: no matter how things look at the moment, the Celtics should not feel like they absolutely must trade Walker at any costs. Clearly, their preference would be to get out of his contract while getting back pieces that would help them contend in the here-and-now. However, if that isn’t possible, it would make the most sense for them to keep Walker. The last few years we’ve seen Horford and Hayward—two other free agents often criticized for not being worth their salaries—leave the Celtics and create holes that the team was unable to fill. There’s no reason for the team to go through that process for a third season.
Now, Walker might not be a perfect fit with the roster next season—and who knows, there could be some lingering unhappiness—but they will likely be a better team with him than without him. Unless the right deal pops up, it might make the most sense for the Celtics to keep Walker for the 2021-22 season and give things one more go. Now this may not be ideal for Walker, but even in the worst-case scenario, he can opt-out the next year and sign a deal with whatever team willing to take him.
True. I think before it is all said and done he will be hooping in the NBA.Its the Jimmy Frederette argument though...If that jumper not falling then what are you offering to me? Gotta be able to D it out or rebound or SOMETHING. He seems like he'd be the perfect 3 and D guy honestly....
So Kemba thought he was coming up Boston and would be the number one option? Hmmmm![]()
I don't get how if you got teams tanking like the Thunder....why wouldn't you put him out there lol?True. I think before it is all said and done he will be hooping in the NBA.

Yo I remember he was supposed to be the Kyrie replacement so I understand
But let some tell it he's got the best jumper of all the brothersKind of want to see this....LIangelo can't even stick in the G League though?
I wouldn't endorse anyone that was under Carlisle but shit at least its a brutha.![]()
Kemba’s not the dominant scorer Kyrie was. Kyrie’s a ball dominant PG and doesn’t make those around him better.
Why would the Celtics want Kemba to do the exact same thing as Kyrie?
Make it make sense.![]()
Do I look like Ainge and Steven's?
We said the same thing years ago.
But they got promotions.
Horford been washed. I didn't even know he was in OKC. I still think Kemba is a very good player (when healthy).Naw they didn't give him away. He and Hortford are about the same caliber of player. Yes. I agreePJ vs KD is honestly how all sports fuels should go. Battle on the court, respect and brotherhood off the court.
You know what hurts the most about this jokes.Yinka Dare is not walking through that door
I want to know where these picks are at because aren't they all first round picks of good teams?^^^^
I am VERY curious on how this fort Knox of picks and pick swaps works out for OKC
Cause honestly so far
All these moves and stockpiling seems very Boston Celtics led by Ainge West to me
REAL TALK BRUH.You know what hurts the most about this jokes.
During that game 5 Philly choke job, Iverson actually did walk thru that door. And he was gray and old.
And despite that fact, he probably would have still been better to have on the floor than half of the guys who were on it.
Horford ain't washed.Horford been washed. I didn't even know he was in OKC. I still think Kemba is a very good player (when healthy).
That's how you supposed to playI mean I personally assume all these NBA niggas are friends to be honest.....but if anyone thought otherwise its probably because PJ stay barking all fucking game and he never look happy. He mad after his offensively challenge ass scores a point.![]()
