this makes no sense and further illustrates why WWE is a shitty/inconstient on air product for the most part
with the last 2 rounds of cuts they let ppl go that were on tv and in storylines
the business side has no connection to the on air product
they've been building up Black's return for months, finally re-debut to set angle up with Big E and cut him 2 weeks later
Braun was just in the title picture and now he gone
Lana and Naomi were in a number title match
Ruby was recently on tv as well
the WWE needs as much help as possible with Women's tag teams and in the last round of cuts effectively got rid of 3 teams

Not a joke unfortunately. What a waste with Braun, Ruby and Aleister. Lana will def join AEW with her husband. They all getting phone calls and offers today.
AEW shouldnt and cant hire everyone
but Alester, Lana, Riot & Braun (and even Murphy) seem like no brainers
Tommy End & Murphy could fit there wresltling 1st approach (but why bring back Vega to fire her husband...maybe that fell through)
the women's divisison could use someone like Riot
Lana should be reunited with Rusev
but if Braun goes there is game over. He would be their 1st legit monster. They fact they let him go is mind buggling. He just reupped. Lost a shit load of weight. Was getting better on the mic. Did everything they asked for from comedy to being a legit monster. And has main evented PPVs. And was a legit big man
real talk I wouldnt be suprised if they give Bray Wyatt his walking papers based on their recent track record
whispers are they wrote him off tv cause his weight, his whole crew has been let go and due to bad booking he has never lived up to his full potential
Can definitely see this. No one is left from the Wyatt family, outside of Orton and he was just playing along when they did that story.
My guess is this is related to going back on the road. That obviously means spending alot more money which also means you gotta cut money especially if you aren't sure how much you will make back from touring. Just a guess but definitely don't think this week's releases and last week's being announced at the same time as touring again is a coincidence
Shocked to hear some of those names, especially Braun and Aleister Black.
I guess they aired those vignettes with Aleister for nothing.
They've done some shitty booking with Braun, but he still has potential to be a big star.
AEW shouldn't touch Lana, she's worthless as a performer and actor.
Buddy Murphy has potential. I could see AEW signing him.
Ruby Riott is a good worker and has a unique look. She could get over somewhere else.
I think WWE is setting up for an eventual sale of the company.
They're shedding as many contracts as possible and signing these deals like the Peacock deal to make themselves as attractive as possible to potential buyers. They're also about to start touring again so that's going to eat into their profits. Also, Vince lost all that money from XFL (again).
I think it's just a matter of time before they're sold off.

The Dark Order is a big ass joke at this point. They don't fit Aleister at all. Minus whale make Braun their leader since he's pretty goofy in real life.

dont know bout ya'll but I dont think i can watch the show (i been quit raw and its tough to watch all this programming with NBA playoffs)
I wonder if other fans feel the same and if the ratings will suffer
i wonder also what will be the catalyst to get independent contractors to pool their power
could you imagine other sports entertaining companies like NBA, MLB etc treating their workforce they way?
this will never happen but what happens if no one shows up to work on Friday or Monday? Does WWE show repeats? What happens if talent goes on strike? WWE has shown what they truly think of their employees...I mean independent contractors
Probably why Vince let Big Show and Mark Henry leave. He knew Tony Khan would cut the check.
And it saves WWE from paying their salaries for their eventual sale.
I've pretty much stopped watching all wrestling at this point, AEW included.
WWE will always have their fans though that will watch no matter what.
I think Vince now realizes he ain't gonna be around forever (Have you seen him recently? He looks like death. LOL) and he's coming up with a succession plan for his kids.
I'm sure part of the condition of any sale, is that his kids (and possibly HHH) have to have some say in the company.
Wrestlers can't even join together to form a union. LOL. No way they would ever go on strike. Too many backstabbers in the locker room.

the business fosters an every man for himself mentality. But I would think today is a wake up call. At face value WWE got rid of alot ppl while they are making money hand over fist. I hope there is more to this than WWE trimming imaginary fat.
A lot of people feel the same way. Raw has been hitting historic lows in the ratings.
One of the biggest gripes in the wresting community among the fans is the constant rematches. Every feud has been overdone. Every episode is a carbon copy of the previous week's episode, and then with 50/50 booking, you can pretty much guess who's gonna win by the week.
These are people that they could've used even as transitional feuds to at least put out some different matches. The heavyweight title picture on Raw is literally just Bobby and Drew, that means they're probably going to feud for like another two months even though they've been going since like March/April. At least they had Braun to mix it up, now he's gone. Orton was more interested in doing something with Riddle, and Bray is not on TV.
This whole shit is fucked.
An alternate take I saw was that WWE was just trimming some big contracts to get ready to head back out on the road. Nick Kahn has already said Vince does not plan to sell.
