I hate to say it, but Keith Lee just comes off as corny.

He's talented as hell, and can definitely go, but his character sucks. Similar to Ricochet.

Lee's speaking patterns originally seemed to be very "Rock" like, but he just doesn't seem to come off as a believable bad ass big man.

I saw somewhere it was said he sold too much for smaller wrestlers. I can definitely see that.

I'm not exactly sure what he needs to do, but if crowds were in the arenas during shows, I'm not exactly sure he would be selling tickets, given the way he was presented on the main roster.

I've said it before, he sounds like Frasier Crane when he speaks. LOL. Hardly comes off as intimidating.
The overselling for smaller wrestlers is an NXT thing.
It seems like their guys sell the same no matter the size and most of the NXT wrestlers are smaller anyway, so that's probably all he knows.
He should talk less and have a mouthpiece like MVP or someone and just be a big man who can go in the ring and destroys everyone.

I'm in 100% agreement with you. I Didn't mind him in NXT....but man the more I see him on RAW....first off, they shaved his facial hair and clothes...and he talks with this......this like mischievous weaselly type smirk and shit.....It just screams some cac up top coached him.

If they straight up said they didn't like him...fair enough but I Ain't buying this weight shit.

BTW, what you think MVP could do with him? Did wonders for Shelton and Cedric and hell even Lashley....

Nah, I was saying his stomach is why the changed his attire. And WWE losing their in-house producers are why they changed his music.

I don't know why he's off TV right now, tho. I think it's something medical related because I think he disappeared right after he came back from having COVID.

WWE's medical team is questionable. They just kept Charlotte off Wrestlemania because they kept telling her she was pregnant.

Because that's where he belongs.
He was on the main roster, won the universal champion, immediately got hurt, and had to forfeit the title.
Never really got good footing on the main roster after that.
He's a big fish in a small pond rather than a small fish in a big pond.
NXT works better for him.

Balor asked to go back to NXT if I recall correctly. He's another guy who had a shitty character on the main roster. He went from badass with/without demon makeup to smiling all the damn time.

I can't totally blame the writers, part of if not most of the blame should be on the wrestlers themselves.

I honestly blame a lot of this on wrestlers not being able to separate themselves from social media.

It seems to me, the wrestlers who stay in gimmick on socials and elsewhere are the ones who stay on top.

Balor was all smiley faces dressing like Bayley on Twitter and that shit seeped onto his television character.

Wish more talent were like Lesnar, Lashley, Reigns and let their in ring work, or others, do the talking.

Social media killed wrestling more than Vince McMahon has.

As far as facial hair, I don't think that totally it. Lee was booked to look STRONG as hell a few years ago against Roman Reigns and Co. on The Survivor Series, whereas WALTER was booked like a Chump.
 
Balor didn't work on the main roster because WWE does not know how to book babyfaces anymore.

They give all the babyfaces the same "happy go lucky" ass gimmick and wonder why it doesn't work.

They'll just be backstage walking or whatever, smiling, just happy to be here, then they come across a heel, they trade words and then it just ends with "well, we can settle this in the ring, let's have a match." And that's it.

How are they supposed to make that shit work?

They got Ricochet and Shinsuke feuding over hats. They're literally shoving roses up Drew Gulak's ass. They had Mandy Rose and Dana Brooke just walk away from a match because Nia got angry. Bianca got the shit slapped outta her before WM, and instead of whooping Sasha's ass on sight, she's just like "nope, I'm not gone do it, I'mma wait until WM, look at the sign!"

How are the babyfaces supposed to look cool when they're booked to be either dorky as fuck or a punk ass?

Also remember when Keith went up against Brock in the Rumble. Brock looked excited to lock up with Lee.

See to me I see him as a potential big fish in a big pond...I'd rather watch him feud with Bobby or Reigns then the same shit over and over again they got them doing.

He just seems so undersized against those guys.

He'll always be a mid card guy in WWE. He would need to leave to AEW if he wants to be at the top of the card.

That or inspire a Daniel Bryan/Kofimania like movement where they'll have no choice but to put him at the top of the card.

Ironically, he reminds me of a poor mans Eric Bischoff, even though he's rich as fuck.

This was not a good look when you think about it. He probably just created bad blood between NJPW and AEW.

I watched both Smackdown and Dynamite last night and found Smackdown to be by far more entertaining than Dynamite.

Especially the story between Jey and Roman.

Dynamite ended pretty whack with the whole running into the stadium shit.

Having Roman turn heel with a Paul Heyman by his side is perfect. And Pat McAfee is like JR and Jerry Lawler in one. SmackDown is better than Raw now.

WWE has let him go twice and he is high demand since WWE has lost their in house producers. Almost everything they do now is generic rock music from the early 90s. The Grimes new joint goes hard and fits his new school money gimick. He also helped Sasha new song I believe

they were broken up for no reason, especially when the main roster needed legit tag teams (they beat the boss & hug connection just to be let go a few years later...the women's tag team division is a fucking joke...but props to Tamina for finally getting gold). One of em good over in sports entertainment based on charm, likability and personality...only to be cut

thank god these wrestlers now have options

I mean I guess he’s too small for them but I don’t see him being any smaller than Edge, Aj, Bryan, Kofi or Punj.
