Weight of Black Women by Percentage

I don’t know bout y’all but this metrics don’t for the women I’ve dealt with and I’ve fucked some fat chicks.

my daughters mom is 5-5 140 track thick
My wife is 5-8 155 genetically blessed

Overweight by BMI standards or by your eye?
Both. What matters most to me is health tho. Even if a woman is skinny, if she eats like shit & is undisciplined, I'm not fucking with her

The reality what was his purpose of this thread? Was he singlehandedly trying to change the so called problem? Did he create a magic pill, a special kind of detoxification powder, the new 2021 tae bo workout plan... what was his endgame? There was none he just wanted to randomly shit on black women and is mad it didn’t go his way
Good point. I'm not with the continuous harping on issues we have. It's shitting on women that are our sisters, mothers, aunts, cousins, daughters.

Let's talk about solutions. Do you encourage healthy eating habits? Do you motivate black women to be more physically active?

Four in five African-American women are obese or overweight, according to the U.S. Office of Minority Health, and carrying those excess pounds can spike the risk for several conditions including heart disease, Type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure and stroke.

About half of African-American women in the U.S. are obese, compared to 30 percent of white women. Black women not only carry more weight, but they start adding extra pounds years before their white counterparts.

  • African American women have the highest rates of obesity or being overweight compared to other groups in the United States. About 4 out of 5 African American women are overweight or obese.

I've shared this before, but I used to work at a health spa YEARSSSS ago and I had to do weigh ins and measurements for the (mostly white) women. I weighed more than all of them but they would be 1-2x larger than me when we did measurements because they either had a lighter frame or no evidence of muscles, and I've never had a six pack or even considered myself athletic.

That said, I'm fat now. What is your solution for myself and the other 80% of lard asses you are complaining about? And why are you bitching at the menfolk to get us in line if, as it's been pointed out, 70% of y'all have lard asses also?
I love it. Get him together, sis.

Yes, men also need to lose weight. But, we have to look at all of the numbers. First, black women are the most problematic at 80%. In fact black men are at 70% and white men are at 75%. In most cases, the squeaky wheel gets the oil.

This is a nationwide crisis affecting all people. Unfortunately, black women are the most affected.

The fact is, if we ignored black women and focused on any other group, people would complain about that as well.
You're a fucking idiot. Cacs get attacked for saying that because the vast majority of crime committed by any group is committed against members of the same racial group.

Again, if 80% of Black women needing to lose weight is a crisis, how the fuck is 70% of Black men needing to lose weight not equally problematic?
Because 80 does not equal 70.

Regarding being overweight:

Black women: 80%
White men: 75%
Black men: 70%
White women: 65%

But, when it comes to being obese:

Black women: 56%
Black men: 38%
White women: 38:
White men: 38%

Over half of all black women are considered obese. We can argue bias regarding how the bmi is measured. But what can not be denied is comparatively, black women have a higher percentage of fat as compared to all other demographics and as compared to the national average.

We need to acknowledge the problem and work to apply common sense solutions.

As a matter of fact black women have the highest rates of obesity in America. 55% (54.8) percent of Black women are obese. This number had been steadily on the increase despite the effort to bring awareness to healthy living.

Eat 1200-1500 calories per day. Go out for a run or walk every day for 3 miles. work your way up to 50 squats, 50 push ups and 200 crunches every day.

no cheat meals. and at a minimum walk everyday.

you won't be, in your words, "fat" in 90 days.

So let's have a discussion about solutions.

We can all be more active, get outside more Start a garden (hoeing, shoveling, & raking works the core muscles)
Adopt hobbies like hiking trails, bike riding, running, power walking.
Change behavior that adds stress & leads to self defeating behavior like emotional eating.
Drink more water, more often
Surround yourself with positive, like-minded people as a support system.
Speak positively, to yourself & others.
Do what makes you happy

African American women are reportedly more susceptible to being overweight or obese than any other race. The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Office of Minority Health has reported that roughly four out of five African American women are either overweight or suffering from obesity.

I figured he found someone he was interested in, but can't stand the thought of stepping to her because she was fat.

I always imagine that a good percentage of the posters on here look like this as they rant about the dearth of "quality" women.:lol::lol:

The OP would have done better if he said it is a problematic enough of an issue that black women are out of shape according to their body type. Some bodies have lean muscle mass, some bodies have average muscle mass, and some bodies have heavy muscle mass. Then you have variants in between. I think all people(especially) need to be aware of their body type and move with that knowledge accordingly to build the best body possible.

With that said the SAD(standard american diet) is unhealthy. Full of sugars, starches, transfats. We do have to be honest that if we looked at old pictures like 50 years old plus across the board you will see that overweight people were not as common as they are now. That is a problem and but it can be easily fixed with a balanced diet with controlled portions, fasting, and some form of regular moderate exercise.

Since the OP wanted to make this post black women specific his 'facts' were incomplete. No one out there can say 8 out of every ten black women overweight. As far as black women are concerned they have to be given the raw truth about health. I will say I am no fan of the the body positive movement headed by Lizzo. We have to reach sistas in a way that they will be self accountable and make effort. I am no fan of coddling anybody who wants a fit partner but not fit themselves. I think some black women will break away from the coddle culture and work on doing what is needed to attract mates. Fitness is a key that can't be ignored when it comes to women attracting a mate. As others have broken down black women especially of the medium to heavy muscle mass group can carry pounds better than most women of other ethnic groups with same body type.

So you said all this to say you are encouraging that 70% of menfolk to step up and LEAD with the solutions, starting with getting y'allselves in order so y'all can LEAD by EXAMPLE? Since that 70% doesn't have childbirth, hormones or several other factors we'll discuss in a bit, it should be much easier for y'all anyway right? Faster metabolism and more muscle to burn more calories than women, etc?

lol.

first numbers were wrong. then the numbers were posted. and they are accurate.

now its about solutions and to stop judging people.

basically black women do not want to be held accountable for their choices. there is a culture of excess among black people that contributes to this obesity issue. along with the fact that black women in particular do not cook anymore. they eat and feed their kids fast food everyday. and i see shit like this with my own eyes.

What are you doing to encourage women you know to do these things?

Do you watch your caloric intake?
Do you walk daily?

When you're doing your squats, push-ups, & crunches, do you encourage & motivate black women you know & see to join you?

I see far too many women with no kids, let alone girls in high school that are morbidly obese. and you see it too.

stop eating fast food. cook for your family and kids. stop spending hours a day on social media and go outside.

problem solved.

For reference, I do push-ups & use ab lounger daily. I also have a physical occupation...

And I'm still overweight. I want to lose 25 pounds.

Yeah we will get to this too. I'm fat and I have no kids. I'm waiting to hear from the OP. I don't think he's on line now. Everyone answering but the person I posed the question to.

ummm. i run 3-5 miles daily. pre covid i was a heavy lifter at the gym. i don't eat fast food and have no desire to consume it. i don't drink sugar. etc....

i fell off the wagon a few years ago and lost nearly 100 pounds in 90 days to win a gym contest. i have kept it off. i graduated high school at 160lbs and less than 10 percent body fat. track, cross country, wrestling. varsity 4 years...

i am a fit adult at this moment.

yeah, i practice what i preach.

it is amazing to me all of the "barriers" that black women put up about not being fit.

but they can work the hell out of their thumbs on that damn phone all day.

I didn't if you practice what you preach, I asked what are you doing to encourage & motivate black women around you.

Like Lavar Ball said a few years ago, "Lonzo is the best [for Lakers] because he makes everybody around him better".

oh. i neglected to mention that i am a former general manager of a bally total fitness and a former certified personal trainer.

yeah, i practice what i preach.

This shit is framed horribly especially when you consider that 40%+ of us are also obese. I don't really think we are in a position to lecture Black women on this. This whole shit is like someone who makes $20 an hour lecturing someone who makes $15. You are both broke as fuck. The real conversation should be why is the US the most obese country in the world and why are we as Black people leading the way in this shit.

For the record, my wife is slim and I am fit/exercise 3-4 times a week...

I'm in here talking to yall about being positive and I'm having some of the worst times here lately, and just trying to hold it together.

I think I'ma take a breather. Maybe I need a run

I didn't if you practice what you preach, I asked what are you doing to encourage & motivate black women around you.

the only thing motivating the majority of black women around me are likes on social media. and as long as wack ass dudes gas them up they don't feel any need to improve.

BITCH ASS NIGGA, WHAT THE FUCK YOU DOING FOR OTHERS THATS GON BENEFIT THEM BESIDES SHITTING ON BLACK WOMEN?!?!

AINT NOBODY ASK YOU FOR YOUR CREDENTIALS IN THIS BITCH, YOU HOE ASS NIGGA. GO PUFF YO CHEST UP SOMEWHERR ELSE HOE!!!

I'm glad you asked. It took a female to be more logical than all of these betas. I appreciate it.

Make health a focus. Stop eating the slavery diet. Intermediate fast. Lower your carb intake. I don't know if you have a man or not, but if you don't, make your appearance higher on the necessary list than income or career.

Well, you know what they say. In a storm, ANY port will do...lol...

Do you actually watch this show or just post the pics for jokes?

I actually watch the show.

The people on the show are psychology damaged for various reasons. Most lived extremely sad lives of abuse from their “loved” ones. :smh:

I like how Dr. Now hold people accountable as well. While many of their weight loss journey isn’t easy, I’m mostly rooting for them and happy when they reach their goal.
