Scott Brooks cost the Wizards yet another close game bypassing his responsibility to actually coach, draw up plays, and understand time and situational basketball.
As bad as that shot was by Russ, the incompetence of his coach is far worse.
It's stupid to boil a game down to one possession-- I only watched the highlights and that was just bait for KingT's "You hate dark people even though you're darker than Russ" bullshit. A little Stugotzian rhetoric.
So I'm sure you're right. My sincere take is that was a terrible and selfish play by Russ and emblematic of his phony stat-stuffing landmark. Though it also reminded me of the goat in its temerity...

I take a holistic view. 2 points in the first quarter matter as much as 2 points in the last ten seconds. A player who fucks up all game and hits a "game winner" is no hero-- His teammates carried him and he finally made a contribution late. Shaq was a late game liability but I'll take his dominance for the first 45 minutes over any lesser center who is more reliable in the final three minutes. Late game performance isn't meaningless but it is massively overrated.
