Offense is always valued more because its harder to do. Lack of Defense can be easier to compensate for. A team can cover up for a player that is average or below on Defense. A player that can't score cant create Offense cant initiate Offense cant shoot; well that's harder to cover. Ask GiannisThere is a reason why you hear the term help Defense. But I disagree. The reason you have "Help Defense" is because it's needed because of how difficult it is to stop some players. Think about it. How many teams really go heads up with 1-on-1 defense now? Not many and if you get too aggressive, the refs whistling shit. It's easier to create space and shoot a 30 ft jumper than it is to try and defend it. In the NBA great scorers have proved that, "The greatest offense beats the greatest defense" every time. I mean "Help Offense" isn't a thing but technically that's what a pick/screen is isn't it? I understand what you mean tho. A player who can't create offense sticks out like a sore thumb definitely and you can hide players on defense but that doesn't mean that players not being good on D should be ignored and rewarded. Some NBA players in the past have admitted that they don't expend too much energy on defense so that they can be the best on offense. Defense is HARD bro. Imagine what Seth went through last night trying to stop his brother. I mean that's why people love to only highlight their offensive game when it comes to 1-on-1 basketball. Go challenge somebody in a game right now and I bet a million bucks they say, "Bro you can't guard me" and nothing else. Making shots and plays is hard but defending them(especially with today's rules) is even harder.
Ruben Patterson's defense against Kobe was the probably the best you could do and Kobe still bodied him.
Offense is more entertaining but defense is harder imo and should get more respect when you get a player than can actually play it effectively.

The hardest skill in basketball is to shoot period; not play defense; 2nd hardest is to create ones on shot; again Jokic is an excellent offensive player, which I agree with you; he is very limited defensively but that doesnt matter until the playoffs; There might be 1 or 2 other bigs that are as skilled as him in the league; Side note Denver going out 1st round depending on who they play...

The Lakers should be fine as long as him and AD are healthy again before the playoff. They played enough games together already that chemistry issues shouldn't affect them in the same way as other teams. And Lebron is basically a master at navigating the playoffs. I don't think you can ever count a Lebron team out of a seven game series.
Now the play in game might be a whole other story. Lakers vs Golden State in a play in game would be the shit.
