The asians arent asking for policy to stop asian hate by getting free college grants they are getting cash. The slaveowners and Government generated cash off the slave labor. How do you know what the Government is going to offer? Why do yall speak from the perspective of white Government officials in these discussion? Is it possible to speak from the perspective of a Black person that qualifies? If you feel guilty about receiving cash, just dont take it. I'd probably go along with this considering I don't think anything close to that would happen. It wouldn't solve the issues though...you need huge structural changes to what federal budgets are created, law enforcement, etc... but I'd take the above.

In 1946, the US gave native Americans 1.3 billion divided among 176 tribes. Although the individuals did not receive direct compensation, the payout was approximately $1000 per person.

In 1988, the U.S. paid $20K to 80,000 Japanese.

Even if you take in account of inflation, the amount the US has paid for reparations has been minimal.

To pay 13 million black folk $50K would be $650 billion. To pay $100K would be $1.3 trillion. We know this country and the people that run it.

Black folk deserve reparations. But, we have to think about how these reparations will affect our generations 100 years from now.

However, before this, I would be adamant that this is not the route we should take. It would be hush money.

I’m just curious to what you think accepting reparations will do to us our our future generations? Accepting reparations doesn’t make up for what they’ve done to us. In every case. Once preparation have been paid and an apology has been administered. That was it. No going back and asking for more.

And that is my point. We have to get it right the first time. Education benefits, healthcare, land, tax exemption, business grants (not loans unless ultra low interest loans). These are things that future generations can also take advantage of. Cash will be spent and given right back to CACs, why?? Because we know that black dollars do not stay in black neighborhoods.
