Justice League MOVIE Discussion (The SynderCut Drops 3/18/2021)

i just watched this for the second time and it really pisses me off that DC can't put together something more cohesive with their stuff. Suicide Squad 2 and Black Adam are gonna have to really deliver. They really need to bring back Swamp Thing and get this Justice League Dark going. Hopefully they will do that right.

The time when Batman told Superman about himself.

Dick grayson wasn't killed off it was jason. how many arcs did the mcu bypass to do civil war, winter soldier, ragnarok/planet hulk the infinity saga? you cant condense a whole history of events in about 25 hours worth of movies and also these movies are there own universe they don't have to necessarily follow canon or match comic books and animated universe panel for panel. if thats the way they chose to tell the story i'm over it. i'm ovet the whole doomsday thing etc. it just is what it is. i like the snyder cut because it put all the pieces together and made everything make sense.
The director himself said it was Dick Grayson.

And I agree, this cut makes more sense, but it's a terrible movie for world building considering what came after it.

Nothing is wrong with humor but it should feel right. The humor in joss whedon’s JL was off because the characters making the jokes switched their personality from previous movies. For example batman doesn’t make jokes in BvS then suddenly is quipping a lot in the 2 hour JL. Snyder’s Batman in JL feels right because it’s the Batman from BvS in terms of tone.

MCU gets humor right because the same characters stay true to their personalities throughout. Maybe only Thor’s humor changed in Ragnarok but otherwise the characters stay consistent from movie to movie which makes sense because their in one cinematic universe. I wish DC would get its act together because superhero movies can be great movies and works of art.

After that ass whopping Darkseid took from Zeus, Ares and Artemis maybe he was in shock and just forgot. Remember he passed out on the ship. Desaad's colleagues were killed. After such a defeat maybe they just said "fuck we just got our ass handed to us lets just forget about this place."

i ain’t buying that. You lose and just forget about the planet? THE planet you lost your mother boxes on AND has the anti life equation? Yeah right. Avoid the planet maybe but outright forget which on???

BVS has the line "I thought she was with you".

Which was an ultra stupid line from Batman.

It was an attempt at humor but how could she be with Superman?

How did Batman not know Wonder Woman was with him? He recruited her.

he recruited her in JL not BvS so the line makes sense. He didn’t know about WW before she made an entrance in BvS.

Dude. He was hanging with Wonder Woman and knew who she was at the party.
At the end of BVS you see the hero's Batman needed to recruit. WW was not one of them.
She was already recruited in BVS!
Batman was studying and tracking her whereabouts in history.
He knew who she was so to say to Superman "I thought she was with you". Is dumb.
Batman knew she was NOT with Superman. She was with him!

Bruh! This is the #1 thing I hated about BvS. He was with her the whole movie, flirted with her, did research on her, discovered the old photo of her from the past, And asked her to join the fight. Then they put in the stupid line.

That was a great opportunity for Batman to deliver a great line. Even if they couldn‘t think of something cool Batman would say; they could have just given us a great Guy Line. “Damn right she is”, “Yeah. She’s my muscle”, anything would have been better than “I thought she was with you”.

Another issue, it was clear from BvS and the “mouse scene” from Justice League that Snyder is inspired by the work of the great Dwayne McDuffie. But he failed miserably to deliver any type of interest between the two characters and instead always has Diana dwelling on losing Steve. If these directors don’t know how to execute something they shouldn’t even try it.

I agree. I do not think Snyder fully understands/respects the characters.

If so, he wouldn't have put that actor who plays the Flash in the movie.

Ray Fisher, Jason M, Henry Cavil, and that bitch WW did good jobs though.

Henry Cavill is perfect as Superman. I don't believe he was ever given a fair shake at DC. Snyder I believe tried to make Justice League into a type of Watchmen movie. As a long time reader of DC I just never saw the Justice League as depressing as Snyder apparently does.

Oh well dick graysons dead then in his movie universe like I said rhe movies are there own universe and doesnt have to mirror the comics panel for panel.. Its the directo4s interpretation and vision. No need to cry over spuooed milk. "Considering what came after it " but whos fault is that? If. Warner let kept snyders version instead of trying to be like marvel ... Fuck it youre nitpicking.. I'm not even going to do this.. . go and join tent and whoever else for your little interner cjrcle jerk. I dont care.

For me, it's unnecessary. I'on like that campy shit.

I can appreciate comedy done properly but If I want comedy, I'll watch a comedy movie instead of a solid action flick where most of the comedic attempts fall flat and adds a goofy element to a major character that's not needed. The Theater version did that too much. That's annoying. Almost as annoying as throwing in the alphabet quota out of nowhere, but that's another topic lol

Right.

Finished it last night. Overall great film and redeemed the Justice League as a continuing theatrical franchise. Centering the film around Cyborg was great and needed to be in the film. Cyborg back story is what brings the film together and is the glue and backbone of it. I hated the Flash in the original but I feel he was redeemed and made him more like his comic counter part. Snyder removed unnecessary comic relief for more grounded tones. More scenes for Alfred and Gordon and introducing Martian Manhunter were welcomed.

The last hour is the best part of the film. The added fight scenes and of course the Joker conversation puts the movie up there as a top 10 comic book film.

He made Darkseid first.....Marvel wanted the same 2 years later...and it was Thanos....
:nerd:

What was funny is that at first Thanos was smaller and kinda slim. I can't remember who but one of the higher up at Marvel saw the resemblance and said if you're gonna copy him go all in and make him huge like Darkseid.

One of the problems is that Snyder doesn't really get Superman so he actually fucked up the character. Supes isn't moody or brooding. He a regular dude with powers. So he gets along with others, cracks jokes on and on. What Snyder did was make Superman kinda like Batman and you can't have two brooding always grumpy dudes in the JL. Within the "trinity" Superman and Batman balance each other out while Wonder Woman is the let's get this shit done without assuming everyone is shady.

Here we go with this shit. The oned that talk that Superman doesn't brood or whatever prolly never read a Superman comic in their lives and all they know is the 70s movies and cartoons. I would post comic panels that would show him depressed , hunched over sad and brooding, crying etc but embedding images is too much work on this site and I dont have time to text url links. The tyoe if Superman you described is a one dimensional character. Superman is the man if steel but he isn't perfect. He also has vulnerabilities. The point of Superman is besides being an alien with incredible power he's also human.
You haters and circle jerkerss are the ones who don't get Superman. Y'all just want to see the same damn Superman where he grows up happy go lucky with No kind if struggle or insight into what it's like being an alien that has to learn to deal with his powers etc until his dear old dad dies of a heart attack etc. For the record the 70s movies didnt quite get Superman either because the movies are never 100% accurate. I don't even want to see that version of Superman again after that forgettable Superman returns movie.
