The father of Michael Brown and other activists from Ferguson, Missouri, are demanding financial support from Black Lives Matter after the organization revealed it raised over $90 million last year.

Michael Brown Sr., whose son was fatally shot by a white police officer in August 2014, along with the other activists who helped propel the movement, want $20 million from the group to help their community.

“Where is all that money going?” Brown Sr. asked in a Tuesday press release from the International Black Freedom Alliance. How could you leave the families who are helping the community without any funding?”

The police shooting of Michael Brown sparked months of unrest in Ferguson and helped solidify the national Black Lives Matter movement.

“We’re not asking for a handout, but for the funding to keep the movement strong where it began,” said Tory Russell, a Ferguson activist and co-founder of the International Black Freedom Alliance.

The funds in Ferguson would be used in part to build a community center in honor of Michael Brown, the press release said.
Last month the Black Lives Matter Global Network Foundation shared its funding numbers in an impact report first provided to the Associated Press.

This is what happens when you use "emotional reasoning," over facts and logic. BLM raised over 400 million during the summer of 2020. What happened to the other 310 million? Anybody have an idea? Lets do a "financial audit." Employ financial Independent auditors who have no stake in the results to check these people. As a non profit, there is a requirement to have independent auditors inspect your bank account.

Follow the money. That's what most "reasonably" grown folk people already know. This is not a child's game.

I remember when black lives matter was just a slogan that began as an organic chant during protest for the murder of Eric garner, I know, I was there in Union Square at the time. My statement refers directly to BLM the organization, not the movement or the slogan. The movement is composed of many folks whose hearts are in the right place but blindly follow the head organizations without looking into the history, mission statement, and actual political accomplishment aside from media attention. Over the past years, many grassroots organizations and prominent community leaders fighting for Black rights have said that BLM has done more harm to the cause than good by sucking up funds meant to help those on the ground level fighting the fight.

All that I have written does not even take into account that BLM was founded by 2 black lesbians and a white. They fight for every other social/racial cause EXCEPT for the killing of BLACK MEN by police offices--the main premise on which their organization was founded.

If you do your research, I'm pretty sure you will agree with my position on the matter.
