The guy said himself that solar and wind make up 10% of the energy in Texas... Your system has to be REALLY shytty if 10% can cripple your power system when it goes down.

I feel sorry for very few people in Texas right now. Those Californians that left for less taxes, while I agree with the reasoning Texas was NOT the place to do that.

Funny how those systemic issues no longer apply to them when they need help. I go the same front wheel drive car in the Midwest that they got in Texas. There is no reason why 5inches of snow should be able to keep you from work. It got -20+ degrees this year and we only had ONE outage for 30min, so all these problems your state is having nobody told you to stay in Texas.

See how much of an asshole I sound like when you take empathy out of the plight of other human beings?

This is the thing I don't get. If they can fix everything once the weather warms up, why didn't they just do the maintenance/upgrades needed ahead of time once it was obvious this weather system was coming. They have been talking about the potential for this shit on the national news since last week. This isn't an earthquake or tornado where you have short or no notice. The only thing I can think is that somebody is going to make major $ on the "emergency repair" that they wouldn't make on preventative maintenance/upgrades.

This is the Seinfeld "yadda yadda yadda" stance that leaves out a lot of important information. The gas and coal machines were frozen too.

See this is the bullshit that conservative people have to look their selves in the mirror and debate do they want to go down this road because it’s not pretty also.....

Nope. They last person to admit they are a fool is the fool. They government of Texas has shown that it doesn't give a single fuck about it's citizens. So I'm done with the democrats use black people for votes rhetoric until I hear a formal apology and admitting that republicans do the exact same shit.

I'm not having any joy at the thought of so many black people shit out of luck freezing in Texas while they make sure affluent areas are well taken care of.

I am taking a little joy in the grass is greener crowd re: cali vs texas
The main and actually only reason they left is in fact politics - taxes, government etc.
Now they are exactly where they wanted to be and see how it is where the free market of capitalism and the rot of socialism is gone.

I pray for my black and Latin brothers and sisters down there hope you find warmth and help and if any members on the board from texas need some help seriously dm me.

It isn't like a computer update. The entire infrastructure needs to be updated. Sometimes that includes construction as well
