I would do it straight up but I do have to recognize the other things Simmons does on the court very well. I'm the 1st one to call him a Beige Bitch for not going to the basket when he's got a step on defenders, but I'm appreciating more and more his defense and overall court vision.
I appreciate Simmons on defense and I love the size mismatch he has on like 90% of other point guards. And he is one of best in the league at his position at catching a rebound and pushing the pace. But he is a liability when it's time playoff time and the game slows and teams have to run sets.
And I don't feel like Beal is terrible on the defensive side of the ball. He might not be Simmons, but Beal brings more to the offense than what we'd be losing on defense imo.
The last superstar Steph played in a Finals was Kawhi Leonard, whom he lost to. I couldnt find any tweets of Curry stans slighting him or using Currys success to say Kawhi doesnt deserve something. And I already did a search in this thread, when Steph was criticized Kawhi was never used as a deflection. If this were the 90's, after the 2019 Finals, Steph and Kawhi would actually be rivals and you would actually see it promoted. But in this era players are only pit against LeBron. Imagine the Knicks Heat rivalry of the 90s never happening because the fans only want to pump those teams up to beat Jordan. Shit wouldve sucked. Well, thats what we have here. Im gonna continue to show yall just how obsessed these white fan bases/team light skin members become with LeBron and weaponize their "guy" to ONLY beat a Black family man.
Its also interesting the bait and switch. MVP award is suddenly important now that the Lakers are heavy favorites to repeat. Rings and chips arent mentioned or important anymore.
The bar is low for Curry. The fact that they have forced him into MVP discussions underscores my longstanding point about him being force fed to fans as being in the discussion as a better player than Lebron. This is beyond ridiculous man. Fuck it, imma start a campaign for Bradley Beal for MVP. Fuck how you niggas feel about it.
