Okay, I have 4 married couple friends that are breaking up. The pandemic made them realize that that person is not for them. Meanwhile, this shit made me and my wife closer. Don't get me wrong, our shit ain't perfect at all, but it does seem like we married the right person.

I've said many times, make sure you like the person more than you love them before you marry them. One of THE dumbest things my wife did, was when I was sick, she thought I had covid-19. She had to sleep in one of the guest bedrooms. On the second night, she came into the bedroom and crawled in right next to me. I asked her what the hell she was doing and she said, "If you got this shit, we're going out together. I ain't trying to be with nobody else! We're going out together!" I thought that was very stupid, but I felt where she was coming from. My question is this: Did you get closer to your significant other during this pandemic?

Chuck,

even if you thought it was stupid....she believed in "through sickness and health".

You got a fighter and a winner by your side.

...but she reckless...lol

Not married, but me and my lady got engaged back in Nov. I realized how down for me she really was during this pandemic. On the flip side, I think she realized that I can really take care of her. I really made sure she was comfortable after she quit her job (worked at a hospital and was scared to catch it).

by the way, do you mean 4 different couples? Or just 2 couples, and all of the peeps were your friends?

Not even gonna hold you OG. That part about your wife getting into bed with me kind of choked me up. You don’t find that type of love easily

Yes, the pandemic is really exposing the faults in certain relationships. My wife and I have become closer through all of this nonsense. But I know couples whom are calling it quits, because they can't stand to be around each other so much.

I mean, once you have sex with your spouse, what else is there to do with them? Do you enjoy talking with each other? Do you two enjoy the same books or TV programs? Do you enjoy the same music? If you don't have a lot in common, it's easy to get in each other's way.

Four different couples. 3 separations and 1 divorce. Maybe one of the other couples in the separation department will work it out. As for my wife, I posted this thread, because we were talking about it. I told her that I thought it was stupid, and she was like :dunno:

Ain’t it funny how these things become glaringly obvious as we get older and wiser? Didn’t make sense when we younger because we were enamored with the physical. Now we realize that we damn sure better be with our true friend, our ride or die homegirl. When we both old and broken down, the close friendship is the love.

sounds like you got a real one Chuck. Happy for you my man

She a real one, don’t let her go..

My wife would’ve kicked my ass right out the house

Many people are in unhappy relationships and unhappy marriages. This pandemic with over 450k people shed light on life and let people know that life isn’t guaranteed and our time here is precious.

They feel like why waste it in an unhappy situation.

It’s more than just getting married for lust and now that you spend lots time together now you realize you don’t like each other. It’s deeper than that in most casss.

Do you have kids under 18?

This pandemic has brought a greater understanding that we are never going to understand each other fully. Never. And we are ok with that.

We went through a lot over the last year. Life hit us in more ways than one and we continue to push through the shit that don’t make sense to us.

15 years together and don’t have plans on going anywhere.

Good story. Me and my wife have been just fine through this. Married for 19 years and one thing about us is our conversations are never boring. We never feel like we don't have anything to talk about. We never get "dull" to one another. That's when you know you have the right one.

Pandemic made me and my wife stronger. We went through a lot with her job and mine with layoffs. Where most relationships that I saw fall off, it made us stronger and work with each other.

...2020 has been that year like Avenger's endgame for me and my wife. Remember that scene where everyone stopped fighting and looked at the sky? Captain Marvel came thru.

It wasn't the pandemic they shouldn't have been together in the first place and it's a bunch of reasons why they did for as long as they did.

I know of a few people I know that are married, legally but they function like their not as soon as they pull off and I question why be married?some don't want to die alone and it's comforting knowing you have something there with someone....

You know what you have when the shit hits the fan. Nene Leakes or a Captain Marvel. They not the same.

Uncle Chuck i was about to post the same damn thing.

And we got closer especially when we thought the baby was sick with it.

If you aint got that FOUNDATION?

TRUST?

COMMUNICATION?

and that ride or die?

You might not survive all this stress in the world.

And now consider all the SINGLE people going through THIS ALONE.
