Several White House officials resign following violence at US Capitol

Several White House officials have handed in their resignations after a pro-Trump mob stormed the US Capitol in Washington, DC, on Wednesday. President Trump’s former chief of staff Mick Mulvaney and top European and Russian official on the National Security Council Ryan Tully were among those who resigned on Thursday. First lady Melania Trump's chief of staff Stephanie Grisham, White House Social Secretary Rickie Niceta and Deputy Press Secretary Sarah Matthews all quit on Wednesday.

"Stephanie Grisham, the chief of staff to first lady Melania Trump and former White House press secretary, was the first announced her resignation. Deputy press secretary Sarah Matthews resigned a short time later, as did White House social secretary Rickie Niceta, a White House official confirmed." — The Hill

They are only surrendering 2 weeks of pay.
And appearing to stand on principle might
improve their chances of getting a good
job

They probably aren't even losing that. A lot of high profile jobs will cut ties with you on the spot if you give notice, but many still give you two weeks (or more ) severance pay. They literally may not even lose a check from this.

They aren't and let's be honest most of them wanted to leave way before this but didn't in order to continue receiving that check as well as to save face.

This just gave them the perfect excuse to cut out early.

My question is how many of these domestic terrorists will face murder charges?

Normally when a participant of a crime is killed while carrying it out his/her co-defendants are also charged with their murder.

Surely that should apply to an insurrection in which the capital building was breached.

My question as well. The felony murder rule is their normal go to in situations like this. Surely you would be looking at some sort of felony for storming the capitol and trying to enter a congressional hall/chamber

Means nothing. They were gone in two weeks anyway.
