....I like Lovie the man, but it seems like his coaching problems the last 10 years are self-inflicted. It's as if he doesn't want to adapt. Look at Don Shula, his 70's Dolphins teams ran a low-tech, run based offense. Once he got Marino, the became high-tech. Does Lovie ever want to adapt? He should enjoy retirement or do tv.

Arizona fired Kevin Sumlin today as well. Smh, I wish him and Lovie the best. Lovie didn’t have a bad season last year from what I remember.
True but when both teams have no wins and your state rival puts up 70 on you its hard to say we understand this season was a wash. I would like to see Herman Edward's hire him in Arizona St. I know he has Marvin Lewis.

Bullshit. Lovie had them respectable again. Didnt he have a decent record last season too??? Illinois aint been worth a shit since Ron Zook and Juice Williams.. We got the military schools running the triple option in 2020, so his offense is whatever. Just the typical shit of black coaches getting shit jobs with no time to turn it around. It aint like the standards were lofty to start, but when you got a black coach its expectations that aint been met in 20 years that all of a sudden need to be met.

I doubt Lovie will be an NFL HC or DC again. However, I could possibly see him being offered a "consigliere" type advisor/mentor role for a 1st time head coach. Maybe some "Senior defensive assistant" title or Asst.HC/LB or DB coach.

Wouldn't be surprised if he ends up at Alabama in Sabans coaching rehab

Shit job :smh:

I didn't like Herm beat down the other black coach the other day.
Hasn't been a good year for Herm and ASU. Lost the 1rst game after allowing a comeback, lost the 2nd game in another close one and had 3 games canceled because co-vid within the program including Herm having it. I'm sure he's just happy to end the season on a good note.

Arizona made it easy for ASU to beat the hell out of them.

I'm probably the only dude on here who follow Illinois. I like the brotha but he sucks. He lost me when we got beat 63-0 by Iowa IN CHAMPAIGN!!! He got a long leash at U of I. It was time. Wish him well.

Bruh... Im not a fan, but Im aware of the programs history.. Let's be real here, Simeon Rice and Kevin Hardy aint walking through that door like its the mid 90s. In all seriousness what type of recruits is moralistic Lovie Smith bout to get to Champaign??? How bad the current admin tryin to win??? Ohio state got shit on lock, Michigan is still a big enough name, Golden dome still has its appeal. Then there are the little bros of the Big Ten(Spardy, Minnesota, Indiana, Nebraska etc...) So anyone looking to play big time ball in the Midwest aint going to Illinois unless you paying them. What type of coach can reasonably be expected to take that job and not see it as a spring board to bigger and better??? Illinois is like a past her prime single mother of 3 that had a few good Summers like 30 years ago.

Who is golden dome??

Anthony Lynn will be next to get fired. I hope falcons will hire an all black coaching staff. Tampa Bay almost there

Lynn will be fired. And the next white guy will come in and be coach of the year. Cause they have their future QB and the weapons. Just can't put it all together right now. Give Lynn another year and I think he can be successful. But we know thats not happening.

oh well. fuck football. pick up a book and figure out a way to help the black community instead of giving your paycheck to your white wife for pedicures

No one is talking about the Hurricanes getting smashed by the Tar Heels. 500 yards rushing against them by 2 players.

The only thing Manny Diaz should be doing with football is writing about it back at ESPN. I swear dude is the biggest pretender ever in football. He can’t coach a damn as a position coach, can’t coordinate a defense for shit and can’t coach a team for shit.

Can't lose 12 games in a row and expect to keep your job
Nope. He earned this firing.
