Sources close to Yase claim he was with his team late Friday night at a recording studio in Marin County, just north of San Francisco.

He allegedly left by himself around 11:30 or midnight, saying that he'd be right back.

Yase was a devoted rapper who was focused on his label, Highway 420 Productions, as well as his own music.

The Instagram account for Highway 420 posted in the fallen rapper's honor on Saturday afternoon, including a brief video snippet of him.

'We appreciate all the love and support,' the caption read, in part. 'Yase loved his fans, he worked every day for y'all. We have hundreds of songs coming for you.'

He went on to create a remix of that song which was also a hit, followed by a number of additional successful tracks.

Lil Yase's songs and videos have amassed hundreds of thousands of views on YouTube over the years, including songs No Diss, Diss Me, Demon and What You Mean.

I have a lot to say, but I'll just leave it at Rest in Peace.

I'll say one thing: When I'm out and about and see the younger generation (about 15-20 years behind me), I don't feel hopeful.
Shit. In the 90s they said the same shit about us, and we had waaaaay worse numbers than these cats. :smh: We lost Seagram, Pac, Biggie, Big L, etc, and damn near everyone moving weight had to create a fucking label.

I dont know dude but I do know that area of the bay... Sunnyvale is FUCKED UP... PROBABLY THE WORST Pjs I've ever seen... That shit makes the Calliope PJs look like Las Vegas.

Rest in Paradise to the homie..

Living over there... He never had a chance

im from Frisco... the irony is Sunnydale’s nicknames are The Swampy Desert, The Swamp and the Nolia

It's fucked up but rappers are easy targets.

Being a rapper requires a certain level of flamboyancy.

Rappers be talking about all this money they getting, cars, houses, women and nice shit they be havin'.

And that shit is constantly being thrown in the faces of have-nots, because not only is the music marketed to them, but the rappers still be trying to hang around these niggas or at spots where these niggas be at.

Then them niggas plot on that nigga, watch his every move.

And it's almost always the same story in the end, rapper got too comfortable, thought he could do some regular shit and that's when them niggas get him.

I actually know people from the Calliope who made it and are living quite well.

This dude had a chance, he just choose to be stupid.

See ScottyPiffen745's reply.

Damn, shit is sad, right. There's glimmers of hope with black women being the most college educated group or the push to young black entrepreneurship/tradeship. I just hope my future kids can grow and build with other like minded young black kids.

You’re getting it mixed up . Sunnyvale is a city in Silicon Valley full of rich people. Sunnydale are the projects in San Francisco. He wasn’t from there . This whole article makes no sense and don’t nobody know this nigga

Too many rappers dying.
Too many young black men dying.
As I mentioned before, this young man could’ve provided income for hundreds of families and created generational wealth throughout communities.

Now he’s just a post that we just scroll by.

RIP.

Something needs to change

y'all sure these dudes are rappers?

I actually watched young boy grow up, was a good basketball player from Sunnydale and cool kid. Then started rapping and got into all his hoods politics. His song Get It In charted and did really well and made his name amongst the kids. I personally wasn’t a fan but respected his grind
