RNC Backs Trump’s Bogus Claims That He Won the Election

“President Trump won by a landslide,” one of the president’s lawyers said in a video shared by the Republican National Committee

Following the bizarre press event this week that saw Rudy Giuliani reference the movie My Cousin Vinny while hair dye streaked down his sweaty face, the Republican National Committee endorsed the wild statements made during Giuliani’s lie-filled press conference, falsely claiming that Trump not only won the presidential election, but he did so in a “landslide.”

The RNC left little doubt that the Republican party has gone full MAGA when it shared a video of one of the president’s lawyers, Sidney Powell, indignantly spreading misinformation about election fraud.

Speaking as though she has truth on her side — she does not — Powell spoke of patriotism while telling lies that could ultimately damage the nation.

“This is stunning, heartbreaking, infuriating and the most unpatriotic acts I can even imagine for people in this country to have participated in any way, shape or form. And I want the American public to know right now that we will not be intimidated,” Powell said.

“American patriots are fed up with the corruption from the local level to the highest level of our government. And we are going to take this country back. We are not going to be intimidated. We are not going to back down. We are going to clean this mess up,” Powell continued, “President Trump won by a landslide. We are going to prove it. And we are going to reclaim the United States of America for the people who vote for freedom.”

But neither Trump’s campaign nor the Republican Party has yet to produce any credible evidence of significant voter fraud or irregularities.

Undeterred, the RNC continued its attempts to overturn the election on Saturday by sending a letter to Michigan’s Board of State Canvassers requesting to halt certification to allow time for an audit to occur.

“To simply gloss over these irregularities now without a thorough audit would only foster feelings of distrust among Michigan’s electorate,” the letter read, according to Politico.

These latest shenanigans come after Trump’s seeming attempt to bully Republican members of Michigan’s legislature failed. The president met with Michigan Senate Majority Leader Mike Shirkey and House Speaker Lee Chatfield on Friday in the White House. But Trump’s con seemed to fall on deaf ears as both lawmakers concluded that they had “not yet been made aware of any information that would change the outcome.”

Trump’s enablers don’t seem to care if their dishonesty is obvious. On Friday, Kayleigh McEnany proved as much. During a White House briefing, the press secretary lied about the lack of a peaceful transition of power from former-president Obama to Trump in 2016. But during the president’s inauguration speech in January 2017, Trump not only thanked the former president and the out-going first lady, Michelle Obama, for the way they handled the transition, but Trump also emphasized how helpful the two were, calling them “magnificent.”

OK, but why tho? Why they chump/tRump her like that, after she was riding so hard for them. Are they going to say she was lying about the evidence or what? Are they now planning to cop to it never really existing, after she swore it did? I can't see their next play.

Likely because of the shit she said about destroying the GOP’s chances in GA with the conspiracy that Kemp took bribes and rigged the election. They’ll tolerate anything except for things that risk control over the Senate

I guess I don't follow this as closely as I thought. Had no idea she said anything about killing the GA GOP or Kemp being a crook. That said, it seems like some ammo for the DNC candidates.

This will all end by Friday. Republicans are now openly opposing the fool,
the damn has broken, the race will be to see who still holds out on his behalf.
The Republicans fear this guy because he has ruled them by fear. They cant
wait to get rid of his ass, but they have to do it together, so that he cannot
pick on one or two of them. This is their opportunity to turn on him.
Now Republicans are slowly pull in off yeah this is not looking good for them that’s why they are starting to peel off from Trump

McConnell needs to stay on Trumps good side so he doesn't totally torpedo GA. It should be interesting to watch what he does.

This Sidney Powell is a "moment" for the Trumpanzees. They were all really banking on her bringing this earth-shattering evidence. I've seen how much they've been crowing when her name comes up. They don't even know how to deal with this shit today. They usually jump from one branch to the other.. just grabbing on the next conspiracy that's going to lead to Trump "winning" the election... but now they're stuck... they don't have another branch to grab onto and it's wild watching them try to figure out where to go next as opposed to just accepting reality.

What are they saying about her not being on his legal team when she was at the press conferences and mentioned by name in Trump's tweets?

She's batshit crazy, but I think it has to do with the conflict of interest over Flynn.

Why do the United States of America have such a weird mode of voting? Why do they not make use of popular votes as most other countries do?

Because the archaic kluge we use tilts the playing field substantially in favor of one of the two major political parties, and that party will never surrender this advantage, regardless of the damage it does to our democracy, giving the least educated and most hidebound citizens the whip hand, reducing the sense of the American people that the system is fair, because that party has gradually lost all its principles other than a tribal desire to rule over us all, and reap the spoils that come from such rule.

After sending her out multiple times with Guiliani and sending her on Fox News as an official team member + Trump retweeting her multiple times, the Trump Re-election Campaign pretty much sent out a press release like "We dont even know who this bitch is. She's not on our team or payroll. We don't know what the fuck she's talking about"

She's still working with him. She can't say it because of conflict of interest. She's Michael Flynn's lawyer.

Exactly

Naw. That’s common knowledge and nothing has changed with that (flynn) over the last 24 hours. That’s definitely not it. One meaningful thing that did change was Sidney saying GA was rigged against Trump by the GOP and then shortly after that the distancing started.

Thread. He named them too

This is such BS. If you get together with some associates to pay a third party to perform a heist, he pulls it off, you split the proceeds, but when he later gets caught, can you just say he's the crook and keep all your loot? All the judges he rubber stamped for them should be removed.

Unless Pence or someone grew some balls and told him they wouldn't pardon him if he didn't shut up, I don't know what it could be. It's possible someone got through to him that they need GA to stop senate investigations, but he has also come after GA.

I also wonder if Trump plans on pardoning Flynn and if that is somehow in jeopardy because of their association.
