Joe Biden is now POTUS

@Camille @4 Dimensional

They believe that having two senators per state gives small states too much power. They think Cali and NY, for example, should have more representation in the Senate because they represent more people. The Republican's have too much power for the small amount of people they represent. They can block bills that the masses would like to be passed. The population has exploded and big states have a lot more people and their representation is not equal with the current state of the Senate. I think I get it. Am I right?

Yes, sir. That’s pretty much the gist of what they are saying.

And I disagree. I won't go into all the details about how the checks and balances for each branch works. Everyone thinks that's a different topic. Let's say the people in this thread are the law makers, not the people. We are going to have to make some hard ass decisions one day and the people will not agree. War is necessary at times but very unpopular. They elected us to make the rules. So we are not going to allow the Senate to be represented by population like the house. That's too many people that will have to agree. The state, no matter the size, can only send 2 Senators to represent them. They will be part of the federal government, not the state government. This body will have the final say on laws before they go to the President. This body will appoint all Judges to the supreme court. If there is a tie the VP will break it. They can do whatever they want at the state level but at the Federal level this is the way. We must protect the people from themselves. They elected Trump so they are not the smartest bunch. Now would you really change the Senate? It would be like giving your kids an equal say at home. I know it might sound a bit arrogant but you can see how they were thinking. It was a bunch of misfits in America. You cannot give the people or the states that much power and control them.

Well it's fine to disagree, but you weren't debating why you disagree, you were debating current process and procedures and they were talking about changing them. Y'all were talking past each other about different topics. Now that y'all on the same page y'all can commence weighing the pros and cons. Preferably in a different thread. I'm not in this, y'all were just driving me nuts missing each other's points.

I don’t think anyone missed his point. It was just an irrelevant interjection and then he ranted into faulty suppositions. That’s all.

Dude, the Senate is not functioning as a check or a balance. Its not functioning AT ALL.

EVERY SENATOR says its broken.

even Mitch McConnell says its broken.

why aren't you?

It was like a shootout in West Baltimore, Maryland between Bodie and those Fayette Street bitches. I’m going to presume Shady is the kid who got hit.

This is a Republican Governor. Fully embrace it, Trump. When those electors vote and it's "official", I don't think there is any world where he doesn't burn down the GOP for not fully embracing his coup

Trump won Ohio. What is he mad at DeWine about? The covid changes?
