Joe Biden is now POTUS

Lazy decisions when it comes to voting along party lines right, right? :D Even though it works well for the opposing side. No or Yes?
I've been consistent in stating that anyone who participates in this type of voting is guilty of being lazy in this regard. Doesn't matter the party. Republicans who do it are lazy, democrats who do are also lazy.

Should be a whole slate of black to takeover state government positions.

Big problem for her is as long as Kemp runs the election it's never going to be even remotely fair. It doesn't matter how many votes she gets the fix is going to be in.

So is she going to hold a position on Biden/Harris team and then run for Governership 4 years later..or i guess 3 years later?

He is no longer SoS.

Naw bruh..when you overwelm republicans. Their dirty tricks are useless.
The problem is people have to be aware and active. Check your registration status, make sure your info is up to date, check that you're in the right voting location, make sure you fill out the ballot correctly, etc....

There's a reason these Republicans are complaining and have been complaining about making easier for people to vote.

I've been trying to tell folks this very same thing below.

I've talked about this a lot. However, as someone who has spent a decade living in different parts of Latin America + several years in a city in the U.S. with lots of "Latinos', I think this guy's perspective is a bit right-leaning and has a faulty premise. I still think it's valuable though so you can understand what the GOP is pitching. The two points central points he claims progressive hold is nothing but propaganda. Progressive don't believe that.

Interesting take. The reality is that as long as all POCs other than us have a path to whiteness, our interests aren't really aligned. They become the owners/drivers of the new model vehicle while we remain the crash test dummies thrown into the next test environment.

Yep. it's really just drawn out pontification. Like I've said before, most of the "Latinos" I know that I actually make it to the U.S. (excluding Mexico) are classified as "white" in their native countries and that is where their interests are aligned. I do think the shit in South Texas though is a different monster.

Do you think it works for them, why or why not? Do you think its been a non factor in them rising to and maintaining power throughout the country?

The problem is black folk tend to operate in the mode of whatever white folk are against. Then we must be for or vice versa.
That's not a clear or rational way to think.
The first thing we need to do is ask ourselves what is good for us. Not immigrants, not people of color, not the poor, not the party, etc....
It irritates this shit out of me when I hear people who are supposedly black leaders talk about black and brown people. I don't want to hear about no brown people because brown people don't bring us up unless it to their benefit or to shit on us.

I think partisan politics has prevented this country from moving forward. In my opinion, both sides are stupid and behaving like little children.

So no. It is not working for either party because the country as a whole is losing and black folk are still suffering and losing.

I can’t speak for all Latinos, but Venezuelans had a HUGE reason to vote for Trump. Honestly, I can’t blame them for their vote for Trump.

In 2019, Trump made a decree that extended the passport expiration date for all Venezuelans for 5 years. The State Department and all government agencies were instructed to accept expired Venezuelan passports for travel, identification, and any other government business.

This helped them out a lot because Venezuela was like 5 years behind on passport renewals. Sounds like something simple, but this helped 100s of thousands of Venezuelans and prompted other countries to do the same.

The second thing he did was to stop visa overstay deportations for Venezuelans.

I don’t have a lot of time right now, but I can go into detail about this later.

I'd like to know.... Why the Venezuelans and not other countries/islands?

I just saw an immigration for 3 days ago and under race, it had a checkbox that said: White/Latino

There wasn’t a separate box for white.

Also there wasn’t a Black/Latino box. Only black.

It works for them because they don't give a shit about the whole country "losing and suffering". They don't give a shit about black folks "suffering and losing". Party line votes work for them. What don't you understand about this?

At the time they were propping up Juan Guaido as the President of Venezuela, and that was something that he negotiated for. Trump/Pence saw that as a pathway to loyalty from Venezuelans who were anti Maduro.

Venezuela has the largest oil reserves in the Western Hemisphere, and was the second richest country in the Western Hemisphere before they got hit with sanctions.
