Even if you consider them lazy, repubs do it because it very often works for them. Call it what you will, but they call it a winning strategy. They lost the presidential race this time, but they gained in the US House, and maintained their positions in state house after state house, governor seats, etc... So you can do your homework reading the candidates life history, their prior voting records on every issue, and major donors, to end up picking a republican. Then you'll cross your fingers and hope they won't follow their leadership and act to defeat and obstruct our civil and voting rights. Or you could fully support the party that has a much better modern history in this regard. Its up to you, but its not about being lazy.
