To be honest I think alot of it stems from not knowing their true history and trying assimilate the white man. I see alot of these dudes screaming for Trump and then you ask them, have you ever heard of Dr. John Henry Clarke, or Stokely, or every read books from Ivan Van Sertima.
The number #1 book in most prisons is -
From The Browder File: 22 Essays on the African American Experience

Why?? Cats don't know their history and when they learn it changes their perspective on life.

I will say this repeatedly, we need more brothers mentoring. If you don't have a male figure to look up to you can easily get lost out here.

I know it's a lack of not knowing your own history, when you got young kids out here saying, and I have heard from many say how people like X and of course Barack and etc. are their black heroes. The X one blew me off my mind most recently when doing a zoom session with some youngins in high school...I was like yeah your mom or parents schooling you well...

Well, when you have individuals like Tariq and Boyce Watkins that are making documentaries about black history while encouraging folks not to vote, then it makes you question on how mentorship is delivered now of days.

We are in the internet age and old school mentorship is a thing of the past. Young kats are attractive to Internet personalities, videos, and memes.

I’m not saying folks are wrong in how they mentor these young brothers, but in the end we want brothers to be the best they can be as individuals and men. Sometimes it comes at a cost of having political difference that may not necessarily benefit black folks as a whole.

It you got 17 min...you may not get it back. Fair warning. Basically, he thinks he's better than John King and Steve Kornacki with his rational of calling Trump winner of the election. He also faults Fox for their early calls...

Sorry, I do not want to hear anything they have to say. Waiting out the count
was gruelling enough. They can go and cry their tears somewhere else.

Its about trying to bring back something that has been missing for two generations - a stronger sense of community rather than a political affiliation. Black youth need to put being black FIRST before being democrat, republican or any of that crap.
A white liberal can and will hate them just as much and as easily as a white conservative. Putting community first at least gives a common ground sense of unity. There is power in the black dollar and we need to unify that .
