Sacha Baron Cohen Slaps Down Giuliani’s ‘Borat’ Denial With Ominous Warning
“Heaven knows what he’s done with other female journalists in hotel rooms,” the star said of the Trump attorney’s compromising position in “Borat Subsequent Moviefilm.”
A scene in the new “Borat” film featuring Donald Trump’s attorney Rudy Giuliani with his hand down his pants in front of a female reporter prompted him to deny any wrongdoing.
But “Borat Subsequent Moviefilm” star Sacha Baron Cohen wasn’t having it.
“I would say that if the president’s lawyer found what he did there appropriate behavior, then heaven knows what he’s done with other female journalists in hotel rooms,” the actor said on “Good Morning America” Friday.
“It is what it is” and “he did what he did,” Baron Cohen said of the former New York City mayor, adding that he was “quite concerned” for his co-star, Maria Bakalova. The comedian said he monitored the prank from a hideaway.
“Make your own mind up,” he urged viewers. “It was pretty clear to us.”
The buzzed-about scene in “Borat Subsequent Moviefilm,” the follow-up to Cohen’s 2006 comedy hit about an uncouth Kazakh, now on Amazon Prime, unfolds during a hidden-camera prank at a hotel. Giuliani had just been interviewed by the reporter (Bakalova) when the two go into a bedroom.
As she helped him remove an audio device, he leaned back and shoved his hand down his pants, appearing to touch himself while breathing harder.
Borat, wearing a bra and panties, storms into the room to inform Giuliani that the woman is 15 (the actor is actually 24).
Giuliani claimed he was merely tucking in his shirt.

President Donald Trump dissed British comedian Sacha Baron Cohen as a “creep” following the Friday release of the second “Borat” film, which contains a scene in which former New York City mayor and Trump’s personal lawyer, Rudy Giuliani, appears to touch his genitals in a hotel room in the company of a woman he believed was a journalist.
“I don’t know what happened,” Trump told reporters about the Giuliani affair, according to Deadline. “But years ago, you know, he tried to scam me.”
Trump was referring to an earlier encounter with Baron Cohen in 2003. The comedian was in the guise of Ali G — a satirical and stereotypical rapper obsessed with hip-hop culture — and had arranged a brief meeting with Trump to offer an intentionally absurd pitch for gloves that could be used to eat ice cream. The clip aired on HBO’s “Da Ali G Show” and can still be seen on YouTube.
“And I was the only one who said, ‘No way,’” Trump said, referring to how he quickly rejected Ali G’s proposal. “That’s a phony guy. And I don’t find him funny. I don’t know anything about him other than he tried to scam me. He came in as a BBC — British broadcasting anchor. ... To me, he was a creep.”
This is not the first time Trump has criticized Baron Cohen. In 2012, he called the “Borat” creator a “bad guy” and a “moron” after Baron Cohen pranked radio personality and television host Ryan Seacrest, spilling ashes on him during an Oscar red carpet celebration.
