Kawhi's success against LeBron is overstated. It was more of the Spurs having success against Bron in the past. LeBron is called a choker for averaging 18 a game in the Finals. Kawhi became the "Bron stopper", a superstar, and a Finals MVP averaging 17 a game 3 years later. Dude won 2 Dpoys playing behind Tim Duncan and aint won another since. This year he wasnt even a top defender played half the year, and still made a defensive team. He has 4 all star selections and less than 10k points in 9 NBA seasons. Fans 20 years from now will be asking how did the Green Mile get compared and grouped with Bron?
The NBA has to purposely help certain players to build rivalries and make the game more competitive. They overrated the Clips because NBA fans always want a rival to cheer for against he dark black beast. There always has to be a "great hope" so the Clips were chosen this year. Next year, it may be the Nets. Theres a reason all these lesser players like Kawhi, KD, Giannis, etc have ALWAYS shot more free throws than LeBron. Gotta even the odds for these niggas. Alot of people only watch this game to see a black person lose, they not really cheering for anything or anybody. They still dickriding and holding on to players and an era from 30 years ago.
