Flu Shot?

For those of you that have gotten the flu shot in the past, do you trust getting it now?

What I mean is pharmaceutical companies are all trying to create the vaccine for coronavirus, how can we trust them not to try to use us as Guinea pigs, more than usual?

Maybe I'm overthinking it but something about all of this doesn't sit right with me.

Please don't say we shouldn't have been getting the flu shot before...

Had the flu once when I was in college. During exam time too :smh:

I have no problem getting the shot :dunno:

But how many of these anti flu shot people are sitting their ass in the house waiting for a vaccine

I guess it depends on if you’re mainly working from home. If you’re home 90% of the time, why is a vaccine needed?

Yes and will get mine this week....

.

During non-covid years, we’re recommended to get one. Or else we have to wear a mask from
Dec. 1st through April/May or so. Company’s organizational policy.

Don't get the flu shot nor the flu
Me neither

Everybody has had the flu you probably didn’t realize you had it.

I used to catch a cold about once a year

and I never had a cold that lasted more

than 3 days or so but since I've been a

raw vegan for the past 11 years, I don't

get colds anymore. If I ever had the flu,

I never knew about it. :)

You probably had a mild case or just didn’t know what it was.

There are 12 major strains of flu ...

The "shot" is their prediction on which 5 will be threats for the given year....

The cdc and gov barely keep records regarding accuracy of the predictions and effectiveness of the shot....

But university studies have shown they are more off than on the past 10 or so years...

And also apparently the flu shot increases your odds of getting shingles....there is such a correlation that some think that the shot actually is the incubator for it. You're more likely to get shingles after a flu shot than not and also more likely to get it than people who had chicken pox as kids and do not get flu shots

So with that knowledge...nah I'm good

Ive never had the shot but did have the flu once during Thanksgiving and I was miserable as hell and pissed that I didnt get to have any grub.

I got a flu shot a few years back. Everyone said it wouldn't make me sick, a few days later I got sick. :hmm:

And I rarely get sick.

Having said that, I'm not going to get one. Due to the fact that I'm already wearing a mask and staying away from people, it seems unlikely that I'd be exposed especially given that I never caught it pre COVID.

Definitely think it depends on your working arrangements and lifestyle. Since I'm mostly around children and have a toddler, I get it. My toddler gets it too. Neither of us have bad reactions either. Plus, I get it from Publix and get my $10 gift card lol

I've been talking the flu shot for 17 years... then I starting listening to all the negative stories about it and stop taking it three years ago, I suffered from a bad case of the flu a few months later which proved to me that the shot was working... I started taking it every year again since.

got a flu shot about 3 years ago. a week later i was the sickest i'd been in my entire life.

figured it was a one off so i got a flu shot again the next year.

another week later i was just a little less fucked up than the previous year.

never had one since.

, your first

This one is easy, follow your instincts. Are they usually wrong?

And you hit it on the head

Its to protect young ones and those who are susceptible to getting bugs like that
