I would love for us to take over Nascar and make it real uncomfortable for these crackers. A Nascar Race ain't nothing but a big ass bbq for crackers

I can see why after decades of the Confederate flag waving all over the place, suddenly it was no longer appropriate. No one white wanted to invest into Nascar all those good ole boys are dead and buried, found a black investor with bank and name recognition, It was one of those no sale unless that flag comes down. Nascar customer base never expanded it's always stayed the same, they have to move into a different market.

NASCAR is nothing but a KKK rally with wheels and as far as Jordan is concerned that mothafucka turned his back on police brutality for 2 decades but now suppose the cheer for him cause now because he owns a team???

We need to stop this shyt

Everybody is NOT Ali....some cats are just athletes...or businessmen or whatever

You have NO IDEA what MJ has put money into over the years

Everybody doesn’t have to have the same kind of activism

What have you done about police brutality for the last 2 decades?

Bubba Wallace to race in No. 23 for Michael Jordan, Denny Hamlin NASCAR team

CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Picking the car number for Michael Jordan's new NASCAR team was a slam dunk: Bubba Wallace will drive the No. 23 car when the team makes its debut next season.
Jordan named his team 23XI Racing -- pronounced twenty-three eleven -- in honor of both his retired uniform number with the Chicago Bulls and the car number of his partner and three-time Daytona 500 champion Denny Hamlin.
Jordan and Hamlin announced last month that they had formed a NASCAR team with Bubba Wallace as the driver, a high-profile pairing of a Black majority team owner and the only Black driver at NASCAR's top level.

The team made the announcement by launching social media pages that include a video and a "Here we come. #23" message.

"A new chapter in Motorsports. The norm doesn't fit for us. This is only the beginning. @23XIRacing," Hamlin tweeted.

The team has not named a manufacturer for its debut at the 2021 Daytona 500, but because Hamlin drives a Toyota for Joe Gibbs Racing, the No. 23 will almost certainly be a Camry aligned with JGR.

Jordan becomes the first Black principal owner of a full-time Cup team since Hall of Famer Wendell Scott drove his own race car in 495 races from 1961 to 1973.

Wallace is the only Black driver in the Cup Series and this season used his platform to push for racial equality. The 27-year-old successfully urged NASCAR to ban the display of the Confederate flag at its events.

I still ain’t watching Nascar. Don’t get it. There is skill involved but nah.

Darrell Wallace Jr., above, known as Bubba, is making his debut in today’s Daytona 500 with 23XI Racing, the team owned by Jordan and the driver Denny Hamlin.

By supporting Wallace, the only Black full-time driver at NASCAR’s top level, Jordan told us he hopes to help diversify the sport, business opportunities and fans.
“We don’t know where this is going to go, but we know that we’re trying to make it better for all people,” Jordan said. (Just don’t ask the 6-foot-6 star to get in a racecar: “I don’t even fit.”)

NASCAR Sues Michael Jordan’s Racing Team, Accuses Them of Being an ‘Illegal Cartel’

Michael Jordan’s racing team, 23XI Racing, has reportedly been sued by NASCAR for allegedly working to scheme their way into receiving preferential treatment.

In the lawsuit filed on Wednesday, March 4, and obtained by The Athletic, Jordan’s team and his longtime business partner, Curtis Polk, are reportedly accused of acting like “an illegal cartel.”

The lawsuit also names racing team Front Row Motorsports as being part of the alleged plan.

NASCAR claims the two teams “agreed to a scheme to pressure NASCAR to accept their collusive terms, including by engaging in media campaigns, interfering with NASCAR’s broadcast agreement negotiations, threatening boycotts of NASCAR events and engaging in a group boycott of a NASCAR Team Owner Council Meeting,” the outlet reports.

The lawsuit alleges that Polk was the driving force behind the effort.

Polk allegedly represented “all teams in negotiations, coordinating their conduct, and threatening teams that considered leaving the conspiracy and interfering and negatively affecting NASCAR’s attempts to renew its media rights agreements.”

The filing was a countersuit to a lawsuit filed in October 2024 by Bob Jenkins, who owns Front Row Motorsports. In addition to his connection to the racing world, Jenkins is deeply connected to the Yum! Brand family of restaurants and owns hundreds of KFC, Taco Bell, Long John Silver's and A&W locations.

Jenkins’ lawsuit reportedly accused NASCAR and the company’s CEO, Jim France, of using “anticompetitive and exclusionary practices” to “enrich themselves at the expense of the premier stock car racing teams.”
The legal battle is all centered around NASCAR’s charter system which, according to The Athletic, is “the sport’s version of franchises that assures the holder of a charter certain financial guarantees in addition to a starting position in all 36 races in NASCAR’s premier Cup Series.”

Per The Athletic, “NASCAR is asking the court for triple damages as well the elimination of the guaranteed starting positions for 23XI and Front Row Motorsports into Cup Series races if the groups continue litigation aiming to make the Charter Agreements unlawful under antitrust laws.”
NASCAR’s Bubba Wallace Had to Find Out His Son Was Born Via FaceTime: ‘It Was Wild’

In a statement to Us Weekly by Jeffrey Kessler, attorney for 23XI and Front Row Motorsports, the lawsuit is “a meritless distraction and a desperate attempt to shift attention away from its own unlawful, monopolistic actions.”

“NASCAR agreed to the joint negotiations that they now attack,” the statement continued. “When those joint negotiations failed, they used individual negotiations to impose their charter terms, which most of the teams decided they had no choice but to accept. My clients' lawsuit has always been about transforming NASCAR into a more competitive and fair sport for the benefit of drivers, fans, sponsors and teams because of their love of the sport. Every major sport goes through a transition to competition when antitrust claims are asserted, and that moment has come for NASCAR.”

Kessler asserted the countersuit “changes nothing” and concluded, “We are confident in the strength of our case and look forward to presenting it at trial."
