He's like Rondo was.

Rondo still had a reputation of a good defender from his earlier career even though it had slipped. I don't think anyone is scared of Beverly defensively anymore, he just talks it and tries to psych his opponent out.

Charge culture is what ruined basketball not the 3 point shot.
Cats don't try to block shots or play defense they just try to get to a spot to foul
Its hoe shit and my only wish were that they'd all get dunked on just like Westbrook did.

I’m not sure that ruined basketball but it’s definitely irritating and not a basketball play. Running to a spot isn’t what the charge call was intended for.

Look at the end of that OKC Rockets game 7
Like I'd never seen no shit like that before in my life but also because they thought they'd get the game-saving charge call they flopped like crazy

Play some defense and try to block the shot or get all the way out of the way
There are times when dudes are out of control but I absolutely hate when someone beats someone on the perimeter is under control jumps to make a pass and a dude who was not in the play comes over barely gets touched and auto falls and they call a charge.

I agree wholeheartedly with your last paragraph. The defender who had nothing to do with the play stands in a spot and gets a call is a problem with the game. I don’t believe it ruined basketball.

One reason players don’t play defense is because it’s not celebrated anymore. Also the ticky tack fouls is another reason players don’t play rough defense.

Bad officiating ruined the game for me. A foul is an infraction when something is done to a player, a player initiating contact shouldn’t be called a foul. But it is.

It's the inconsistency in officiating that is the problem.
If you're big - Lebron or little - Steph you don't get those calls. They both regularly get mugged.
If you're Lowry you throw your body into people on purpose to get calls and it works
If there's no consistency how can you play?

They keep talking about Giannis need another star....there's nothing wrong with Middleton. Bucks just need better surrounding pieces around him and they may need to think about him dominating the ball as much as he does.

High school and and college basketball really turned that shit up.

My college coach was big on that shit.

I remember one game there was this big 6’8 nigga from Bowie State that had full steam starting from about three quarters court and leap from damn near 10 feet out for a dunk.

Coach got mad at our point guard for not trying to step in and take a charge. Our point guard was like

I remember hooping in high school and my coach was trying to teach me how to take a "proper charge" like I was Monica Wright and this was Love and Basketball. Never did it. Why would I offer my body up as sacrifice just to be on somebody's highlight reel.

Tell the nigga that was guarding him to not get beat off the dribble so you don't have to take a charge.
Tell the center to jump the fuck up to block the shot

And there ARE charges
When a dude is out of control it is a charge. When a dude is leaning into you on a drive and shoves you off of him that's a charge.
I don't believe there can be a charge against a post up player you can't penalize 1 person for being in the weight room and the other for lacking.

So there are charges just not the way defenders are trying to draw them.
