‘The President Was Not Encouraging’: What Obama Really Thought About Biden

NEW REPORT LOOKS AT HOW OBAMA’S HOUSING POLICIES DESTROYED BLACK WEALTH

“The first black president in American history was a disaster for black wealth,” authors of the think tank report wrote.

But in the past few years, and especially in the aftermath of the 2016 campaign, the Intercept has taken a sharp turn into party politics. With a hard-charging Washington bureau chief, Ryan Grim, driving its political coverage, the Intercept has taken a more classic “gotcha” approach to campaign reporting, and landed in a unique spot in the media ecosystem—as the loudest voice attacking Democrats from the left.

what REALLY HAPPENED:

Nigga, ADDRESS THE CONTENT OF THE ARTICLE! Address the actual report. Address the economic stats of the decline of Black wealth under Obama! What the fuck is your opinion on that? We should just ignore it?

Alright. I DO remember you from an audio debate you had with somebody a couple years ago.

We've got nothing to debate. I said what I said.

You said: "You won't have a viable third-party if voters never show a willingness to step away from the two-party system."

We're not in disagreement on that point. Where we disagree is on your pushing so hard towards encouraging people not to vote in THIS election so close to election time.

The simple act of "sitting out the vote" in the presidential election of 2020 will not break the stronghold of the two-party system. What it will do is hand Trump another four years. We have been left many times to choose the lesser of two evils. Of course, that's not a good feeling.

However in 2020, there is a worm that's taken over the system- not a virus. Trump is unlike any other American president before him in his level of corruption, defiance of separation of powers, brazen commitment of treason, unleashing of federal troops onto the populace and shredding of the Constitution. He is a fascist dictator in every sense of the words who doesn't intend on leaving office even if he lost the election and is willing to openly employ any means to subvert the entire electoral process to maintain and consolidate power by illegal means. All the while, he is running on an amped up white power nationalist agenda. Another four years with his power unchecked will unleash hell upon America.

Joe Biden is not the second coming of Jesus Christ. He's not impressive at all. What he is is, he's not Trump. At the bare minimum, he has governing experience, he was not born with silver spoon in his mouth, he has not been coddled all his life and is not on the level of sociopathy as this maniac in the White House. Not impressive, but not Trump. He is moldable, he could be worked with, Trump cannot. He's (barely) functionally insane. A man is running the country that suggested injecting bleach into people's veins to kill COVID. He's dangerous and has to go simple as that.

So, I'm not interested in debating about Barack Obama or anyone else. Barack can't be president anymore. He's irrelevant to the discussion of the 2020 presidential election.

To set the stage for a multiparty system is something that would take planning.

Sitting out this crucial election that will determine whether or not there actually will continue to exist a democracy anymore is foolish and suicidal. If you want to talk strategies towards attaining multi-party elections subsequent to 2020, I'm in. Sitting out the election? That's a vote lost to Trump.

I’ve never debated anybody in here because everyone I’ve challenged has run. All the West African/West Indian anti-ADOSers (@Drayonis, @Mr. Met, @Hotlantan, @mangobob79, @mailboxpimp, @Walter Panov ) all the Democratic dick-riders (@veritech, @Dr. Truth, @hocjo2626 ), and my favorite BGOL nutjob @Mrfreddygoodbud . All pop mad shit in a thread and even tag me and tell me they want the smoke, then run when told to step to me in a live debate.

@killagram has been witness to all of this. Everybody has access to Zoom these days. No account needed. No excuse for this pussy-ass behavior from grown Black(?) men.

Presidents don't affect people's everyday life. Isn't that why you guys claim to only vote for locally elected officials? So how could Obama's policies have destroyed black wealth?

I'm still a part of NAREB. you dont know shit.

You need to be expelled from NAREB. Must be running some kind of Jay Morrison-type of hustle.

“Cooper and Bruenig are critical of the Obama administration’s response to the financial crisis, taking aim at policies that bailed out large financial institutions while offering little help to homeowners. The authors singled out the Home Affordable Modification Program for censure for seeking to incentivize mortgage services to modify loans.

The failures of HAMP are well-documented — it ended up helping big banks and doing very little for homeowners.”

Love it! You twisted his head with pure logic and turned his own argument against him!:D
Actually he didn't. Show me a post where I told anyone to vote fir Biden or anyone else. You dudes are the one claiming presidents don't matter, yet here you are making the president matter.

You could never qualify to get in it.

Insiders tend to have greater access to information than coonskin dudes like you.

The feds can't be blamed for shit states do...but you wouldn't know about that...cause you're too coonish for factual info.

Gone lick ya little coon nuts and stop lying about this not being about me.

Youse a fraud. I see you.

You asked the same voting question over and over and over again to deflect from any criticism of Biden and his record. But now you’re trying to claim you ain’t pro-Biden? FOH. And none of us ever said “presidents don’t matter.” If we did, then show me. I’ll wait.......

I’m not a realtor. But with the way Black homeownership collapsed, perhaps it’s a worthless organization anyway.

And the very article YOU posted says this:

Historian Richard Rothstein, a housing policy expert at the Economic Policy Institute, said that even though fair housing advocates should be applauded for policing discrimination, a stronger government response is needed to blunt decades of discriminatory housing policies.

“It’s no surprise that black families are still experiencing some level of discrimination,” Rothstein said. “Because of the long-term effects of racially explicit government housing policies, where for decades blacks were excluded from buying homes in some areas, we need equally explicit government policies to remedy the imbalance,” he add. “There is no way this can be fixed by market forces alone.”

So miss me with the “oh it’s a state issue.” You sound like a goddamned Confederate.

that statement doesnt negate what i said, Coon Jay Simpson. neither does it blame the Obama administration, L.L. Coon J.

I won’t knock your desire to debate dudes on here. For myself as serious topics go, I don’t see the practicality of live debates on a message board. I mostly don’t prefer debating at all. I would rather present a counter-argument if I disagree with something posted here, not for the purpose of changing your mind but more so that I’ve added my viewpoints that I believe to be right into the mix of viewpoints presented. Others not directly involved in the exchange who are just observing could be positively affected, hopefully.

With us typing responses back and forth, there is the opportunity to see a post, go think about it and come back and take the time to formulate a reply, edit it, add to it, subtract from it, then post it. There’s a chance to exchange links and wait for the other person to read the link and then come back and discuss it. Live debate doesn’t afford that level of scrutiny.

As debate itself goes whether live or text-based, people tend to cherry-pick responses to posts and they tend to move goalposts. Folks will read a reply and see where the person they are debating proved their view to be correct. Instead of acknowledging that the other person was right, they sidestep all of that and pick out one line out of several paragraphs and only address that one line and start a new mini-argument off of that one line. That’s non-productive. On BGOL in most “debates“, people act like it takes away from their manhood to say they agree with certain points the other person made. That’s not productive either.

If you are right about something and I see that, I‘ll acknowledge it. If you show me that I was wrong on a point and I see it, there is no shame in admitting you are right. I’ll acknowledge your rightness. Since for me, I don’t view these discussions as a pissing contest, if there are areas we agree, I’ll verbalize my agreement. I’m not trying to “win” or best you or bury you, when it comes to issues of Black liberation, reparations or simply us and our families surviving in this country and this world, I want us all to win. The moment that any of us feel like we can’t learn something new or have our consciousness and knowledge base expanded is the moment we become unconscious and voluntarily ignorant.

That’s why I’m usually pretty selective when it comes to sharing my viewpoints in topics on here.

This election is an emotional issue for me. The lives of my family and me have been affected profoundly by COVID-19. I’m really trying to see a change of leadership happen as soon as possible to prevent more death,

I slipped up. You, @VAiz4hustlaz had some views I didn’t agree with. I called you a “Judas”. That was the wrong way to enter this thread. As one who preaches against ad hominem attacks, I violated my own sermon. As a result, you and I ended up arguing about who is Black or not. A non-issue since we both are Black. We’ve agreed on and cosigned each other on a bunch of things over the years. I shouldn’t have called you that name or automatically labeled you. It would have been productive just to enter the conversation respectfully disagreeing, giving you the opportunity to respond and present my counter-argument and then dialogue with you from there.

Then my lack of intelligence should be easily exposed in a simple debate. I ran you out of the China threads. And now you’re still running.

@killagram What’s the psychology behind this? What are these niggas afraid of?
Your lack of intelligence has already been exposed. Multiple times. You didn't run anyone out of any thread. Your retarded theories were debunked over and over again and you just couldn't get it. :dunno:

Lol
You two are about as dumb as a box of rocks. Hang myself? I think not.

I never told you or anyone to vote for Biden. It has been you and others trying hard to persuade people to not vote for Biden. What I did was spotlight the hypocrisy by you and others about the presidential elections being unimportant. Yet your focus has been on how policies from presidents (especially from Obama) have great affect on people locally.

You can't have it both ways. Either electing a president is or isn't important. Either the presidents policies, etc...affect people locally or they don't.

He's too dumb to recognize his lack of intelligence has been exposed. That's why he simply post articles but can't do anything beyond the script.

Please SHOW me where you exposed anything, other than tendency to talk shit and run. While we’re at, revisit your point. Remind us again about how there is no anti-Black racism in China.

  1. Where have I said “presidents don’t matter”?
  2. Why is your knee-jerk response to any assessment or criticism of Biden’s (and Harris’) political record “who are you voting for”, rather than an affirmation or refutation of the matter?

Respect. And Colin! :D But please see the situation from my perspective as well.
  1. Just look at the first page of this thread. I posted an article from Politico about Obama himself questioning Biden’s capabilities. From that, the responses are largely spam posts from veritech/voyeur and “so you voting from Trump/who you voting for” nonsense. Rembrandt is the only person I believe actually read the article.

  2. You, Fonzi, maybe Camille and a couple of others, are the only ones who have articulated that you regard Trump as an existential threat who needs to be removed at all costs. I get that........to a degree. But that also involves a critical assessment of the socio-economic situation of Black America and what the Democratic Party’s ultimate aims are. Taharqa, Soul on Ice, xfactor, Megatron and I have mentioned this at length, only to get swarmed by the Obamabots and Bidenbots.

  3. You can call people out on their bullshit in real-time in a live discussion or debate. Force them to answer a straight question or directly address a point. Also keep in mind that these people have called me out, tagging me in threads and what not. Veritech directly said he had three days off, had time and wanted the smoke! So I let him know that I’m ready. Just let me know when. Everybody has Zoom these days. If I’m getting called a “cac” or “agent” or “paid Russian troll” or to “show my hand” from certain people, I want to see if they’re really about proving themselves as well. Let’s separate the real from the fake.

  1. You can now add me to the list. It was a good, balanced article that you posted. It mentions both Biden’s assets and liabilities as well as President Obama’s. Sort of gives an idea of what kind of leadership to expect from him. So my thinking is, realizing how crucial this election is, a lot of us want to make sure we’re on board to eliminate Trump from office. Folks are in semi-panic mode about it. With all the election tampering going on brazenly from the White House even, it makes folks on here nervous if there seems to as much of an inkling of a suggestion for us not to vote.
  2. Respect to @fonzerrillii and the Queen @Camille. Absolutely one should scrutinize those things you mentioned. There will be no perfect candidate, because “perfect” is subjective. I came in looking for someone whose overall policies meet with what I believe in. Therefore it is of slightly less importance that the candidate 100% verbalizes support for my issue. The Civil Rights Movement of the 1950s and 1960s didn’t take place with any presidency in mind. It happened in spite of who was in office. The same with BLM. What is important is that we push the issue always like how things are being pushed right now. Not getting results? Push harder. The drawback right now is that we have a weak-willed, insane, white nationalist, uninformed idiot in charge who cares nothing about the country of of any Americans (especially people of color) outside of his rich cronies. He’s also a pathological liar. He Is completely inflexible and cannot be trusted.
  3. So I am kind of an outlier when it comes to debates. You know my own personal philosophy and methodology regarding me taking part in them. I would offer a couple of suggestions though for what you want to do, which you could take or leave. How about having debate rules? Pre-prepared questions and/or topics? A competent neutral moderator?
Seems to me that moderated public debates aren’t bad. It’s just too bad that in this case it’s coming from a place of responding to ad hominems. Also, maybe some of the folks you challenged are afraid but on the other hand, a lot of folks type better than they talk.

Why is it that you never answer questions but deflect by asking your own questions? That's not how shit works. Try that cac shit with someone else.

are you voting for:

1. Biden?
2. Trump?
3. other?
4. not voting?

Show me where I told anyone to vote for Biden. If me voting for Biden to get Trump out of the Whitehouse equals to you being pro Biden. Then so be it.

I've got a lot going on so even though it seems I'm always here, I've just been jumping in and out of topics. I'm not engaging in anything that has in depth, drawn out discussions right now. I don't want to get pulled into this thread, either.

I give Va the benefit of the doubt, but most of the folks running around here talking about not voting are just chaos agents and anyone dumb enough to listen to them after all that has transpired since 2016 deserve to get got. Hopefully there are enough folks on the other side to compensate for their ignorance and lack of foresight so we don't have to suffer another four years of Trump.

All I'm going to say is that if folks aren't smart enough to realize that ceding power by not voting makes us totally powerless then shame on them. The time to push and criticize is during the primary to hopefully get the best candidate. Now that the selections are made, we need to get them elected and ONCE ELECTED push them on our agenda. We don't tend to do this tho. Folks think the job is over once they cast their ballot.

Like Roland said below, you don't get ANYTHING without a seat at the table, and all these folks want to walk away while the GOP doesn't want us to have a chair or a table, let alone a seat at one. They aren't trying to seriously court black voters, and there is a reason for this.

This should be required viewing in all these no vote/third party threads.

I agree with all that you said, queen. Wisdom uncut per usual.

@VAiz4hustlaz has always been solid.

Unfortunately some of the ones co-signing him... Not so much and for the wrong reasons.
