‘The President Was Not Encouraging’: What Obama Really Thought About Biden

Biden’s own academic career was unimpressive—he repeated the third grade, earned all Cs and Ds in his first three semesters at the University of Delaware except for As in P.E., a B in “Great English Writers” and an F in ROTC, and graduated 76th in his Syracuse Law School class of 85 students. He’s the first Democratic nominee since Walter Mondale in 1984 not to have an Ivy League degree. He was not a binder person, Clinton and Obama aides said.
..............
Lingering tensions between the Biden and Obama camps were subtly visible in the 2020 primary campaign, in which Obama declined to endorse any candidate.

Many top Obama administration and campaign officials sat on the sidelines or worked for candidates other than Biden. Top former aides including strategist David Axelrod and the young hosts of Pod Save America—Jon Favreau, Tommy Vietor, Jon Lovett and Dan Pfeiffer—at times ridiculed the former vice president’s campaign. Biden is one of the few candidates to have not gone on either of their popular podcasts during the campaign, despite having been invited: “I can’t speak for his campaign’s scheduling decisions,” said Vietor, “but the Zoom is always open.” :D

Yet searing, anonymously sourced quotes from Obama kept appearing through the race. One Democrat who spoke to Obama recalled the former president warning, “Don’t underestimate Joe’s ability to fuck things up.” Speaking of his own waning understanding of today’s Democratic electorate, especially in Iowa, Obama told one 2020 candidate: “And you know who really doesn’t have it? Joe Biden.”

The pro-whites won’t dare say anything to diss Obama in favor of Biden although Obama just shitted on Biden.

they will avoid this thread for the simple fact that they can’t say anything bad about a fellow Democrip.

DOES ANYONE IN THIS THREAD ACTUALLY ENDORSE TRUMP AND WHY??

"Endorse" trump!?! I have so much contempt for that fucker that I refuse to even put capital letters on his name. There is no legitimate reason to like, admire, trust, follow, support, endorse, encourage or promote that asshole. If you actually do find someone of reasonable intelligence that is willing to speak honestly about why they like him I'd love to hear it. I need some entertainment while I'm teleworking.

Why is it that these dudes won't tell you if they are going to vote, and if they are, who for?
They will tell you that voting for president/national elections/ national representatives isn't important, and is a waste of time. Yet they seem fully invested in national politics, and in discouraging you from voting for national representatives (specifically Biden and other democrats)?

I will say it again: a critical assessment and analysis of Biden/Harris, or the Dems in general, is NOT an endorsement of Donald Trump or the Republican Party. Too many of you have an either/or political worldview, rather than understanding that neither party is working in our interest and we have to pro-actively change this. It starts with how we vote, or don't vote.

Whats the alternative then?? there are only two people running for president and only two parties that run congress.

all I see is people shitting on democrats while giving republicans a pass then when confronted about that they say "of reps are shitty too" that's not an answer.

what side of the political spectrum do you fall on?

between the ONLY TWO parties that matter in this country which party do you think you can get ANY concessions from??

What kind of person do you want for President...who would be your best candidate thats not Biden or trump that you would endorse??

How can anyone make a critical assessment and analysis of you when you won't state what you plan on doing?

1. are you voting for Biden?
2. are you voting for Trump?
3. not voting?
4. other?

That something you can clearly clear up.

well the DON'T VOTE part of that just doesn't work. Thats proven. Silence condones whether you believe it or not.

And until there is a viable third party you ONLY have two choices. Thats the reality.

So whats the alternative to the two parties that makes an impact in the way you're looking for??

it makes no sense whatsoever.

These fools still trying to decide if they want a pound of shit or a gallon of piss. In 2020 its ALL bad.

Bruh, it's whatever the television, media, entertainment, sports, musicians influencers tell them!! It's not bad, Its FUCKED up!! Anyway, well said!!

All great questions. You gotta think in more than 2 dimensions to answer them though. There's more to this thing than just up and down (x axis) and side to side (y axis). There's a z axis (back and forth). By refusing to choose either of the shitty choices a lot of people think that's just showing support for the worst of the two choices. I'm not going to speak for any one else's reasons for abstaining but mine is simple. Every time I show up and participate in a fucked up system I validate that system. I refuse to do it. So what does that leave me? Well it makes me subject to more of that fucked up system. Regardless of who wins I'm still in the fucked up SYSTEM. My time is better served insulating myself from this fucked up system by living the kind of life that allows me to weather a liberal or conservative storm. As a citizen and voter the only issue I'm concerned about is an overhaul of the justice system that will treat black people with dignity and equality. I have NEVER heard those words come out of a politicians mouth and since that's the only issue that makes a difference in my life, than it doesn't matter who's in office. My life is such that I'm good whether you have an open or closeted racist in the white house. If you find a candidate that's willing to give serious consideration to the issue that I'm concerned about I'll get out there and stump for them. But until then I'd rather NOT be a party to a fucked up system that seems to mistreat black people no matter which party is in power. Now show me the flaws in my logic.

We've got another "thinker" in the thread!

So what are you going to do?

1. vote for Biden?
2. vote for Trump?
3. not vote?
4. other?

A "thinker" who doesn't answer simple questions.
Not sure which questions you're talking about. I called him a thinker because thinking is what it takes to create meaningful change. Some of us just don't want to perpetuate the same shit every 4 years. Its funny that Joe Biden could spit in your face and call you all types of niggas and coons and you would STILL vote for him due to your contempt for that asshole trump! So tell me, what makes you different from those lunatics in the MAGA hats? They accept shit sandwiches from their master all the time because of the contempt they have for minorities! A THINKER recognizes this duality and makes sound decisions accordingly.

Unlike you I have respect for myself, so no, Biden (nor could anyone else) couldn't spit in my face, or call me all kinds of niggas, etc...

Me voting to get Trump out of office does not equal me being a Biden stan.

In fact I was one of the only people back when Hillary started her run in the primaries and people were brining up the crime bill, I called out Biden. Many of those people were saying that Joe Biden should be the nominee, instead of Clinton.
I brought up the fact that if you had a problem with Hillary Clinton an the crime bill (which she did not have the power to either vote or sign into law), then you must really have a problem with Biden (and a slew of black representatives who either supported or voted for that bill), since he wrote the damn bill.

It's this simple. The people of the USA have two choices.

Vote for Biden or Trump.
There is no third choice because one of them will be the president.

Now...I'll ask you the same question I asked the "thinker".

1. vote for Biden?
2. vote for Trump?
3. not vote?
4. other?

by not participating you never get to change the system to makes those changes that do concern you. Why not run for office yourself? AOC did and a number of progressive people are and theyre making some headway. Why not openly endorse the 3rd party candidate that is willing to fight for those issues even if its a losing cause because it's your right?

You want the justice system overhauled but you need congress to do that but you don't vote...you won't run yourself and you don't endorse the candidate closest to your position so nothing can happen then you reinforce this by saying its all shitty and makes no difference and you think that's a flawless plan???

Ok, first of all how do you figure I don't "respect myself"? Self respect is precisely what keeps me from voting for assholes that want to keep me down. I'd think that there's a better argument for YOU not respecting yourself because you allow these politicians to use you every 4 years as if you don't have a choice.

Second, it sounds like you were on the right track questioning these politicians in 2016. What changed? I still question them.

This is simple. There are those among us that simply don't settle. I'm one of them.
Vote for Biden or Trump.
There is no third choice because one of them will be the president.

What kind of "defeatist, whoa is me" shit is this?!? So what, one of them will be president. That doesn't make either right. Nations have fallen for centuries because the people were either too afraid or too ignorant to put good leadership in place. I guarantee you that in all of these nations there was a contingent that knew better and just shook their head as the cowards and idiots (the masses) ran the country into the ground. Just like The Good Reverend Doctor said to Flipper in Jungle Fever "I don't eat with whore mongers" I don't vote for charlatans.

Oh and let me answer your question. Not Vote. There's simply no viable options in this cycle.

Ok so you are not going to vote and you have all the answers becuse you are also a "thinker" (over analysis leads to paralysis)
So what are those answers to changing things?
What are you currently doing to make change?

I like the way you think. These are all things that I would say. This is sound logic and a solid plan. Here's what we keep forgetting on a porn board. We're just avatars and screen names. Each of us has a story that the rest of the board is not privy to. If you knew my story, the things I say would make a lot more sense. One of the reasons I try not to get too critical is because I don't know people's story and motivation either. But to answer your question, there are good reasons that I haven't done exactly what you suggested. Let's suffice it to say that there are lots of paths to the promised land. The one you described simply isn't the most expedient one for my circumstances. But I'll still get there.
